Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe bed was a little too soft for me
The location and facilities - lovely kitchen if you were staying a few days Iron board and all that would be needed. Supermarkets nearby by car - Sinsbury's etc Bridge of Allan is just 5 minutes away by car - lovely eateries/bars and boutique shops to suit all. Stirling uni - is a lovely campus with a hotel on-site if you don't want to travel out of the campus with a cosy bar and lounge. Also as a guest, you have access to the swimming pool and gym Super value. What more could you want or need?

United KingdomVery thin door/walls so could hear when the units main door was open and closed - really not so bad i lost any sleep but would be wary if you're a light sleeper. Only 1 towel for hands and shower. No coffee making facilities. Bed felt a little unstable but was fine for 1 person. However, for the price, honestly it is completely fine, thoroughly enjoyed and would stay again.
Clean, easy check in and check out. Lovely view from window.

United KingdomThe shower temperature isn't adjustable and no shampoo is provided. But the bathroom was very clean.
The room is absolutely fine for the price. The bed is very basic, but not uncomfortable. There's a shared kitchen, which is helpful given the limited eating options on campus.

United KingdomThe room literally has nothing except bed linen, towel and toilet paper. There is not soap for hand washing, which I would expect is a minimum, even in a budget accommodation. There is not bedside table and lamp, so it's big light on or no light on.
The location was very clean. Nice setting amongst the trees. If you are relying on public transport you will have a bit of a walk to get to the bus facilities which is a pain if you have a suitcase.

the facilities are amazing, we thoroughly enjoyed the swimming pool and the grounds. Staff were all very nice and helpful. It is a university campus, so rooms were en-suite and there was shared kitchen facilities and free parking.

United KingdomNot applicable - I had a car so the not so central location was not an issue for me.
Arrived late (just after midnight) but check-in went smoothly - the gentleman at the 24-hour reception desk was very helpful and a friendly face at the end of a long day. Room was nice - these are student hall rooms and they definitely are far nicer than what I had at uni! Clean, simple room layout, and a good bed, with everything you need along with an en-suite bathroom. Easy access to a communal kitchen down the hall. Suited my needs perfectly - a convenient place to stop off given it was a late arrival and early departure.

United KingdomFor the first time, I did not find the room or shower to be clean. In my experience, this is unusual. The lift didn't work and there was a broken bit on the worktop in the shared kitchen. Just a bit tired and grubby.
I've stayed before and as usual I like the location and convenience. Reception staff are lovely.

United KingdomBed could have been more comfy
The room was clean. Staff very friendly. There is a laundry. Shared kitchen with microwave, oven, cutlery, etc. Plenty of plug sockets for charging devices. Good value for money. The grounds of the University are stunning. Beautiful trees and set around Loch with benches dotted around to relax and enjoy. This is the second time I've stayed here this year. I good over night stay to break up travelling from the Highlands

United KingdomAnnoying bright fire exit light shining all night, and room too hot but you can’t have everything. Communal kitchen sink dirty the whole time, wasn’t being cleaned by staff.

United StatesWhen I booked, it said no towels available and when I arrived they were. which could've saved room in my suitcase for something else. There was no toiletpaper, which could've been mentioned on the website. It could've been cleaner, as there was still some dust and hair of someone else.
The rooms are recently renovated. They're practical created, bed was good, kitchen came in handy. Students at the information desk was super friendly.

Extraordinarily kind staff. The room was how described and expected, simple yet comfortable. The university grounds are nice for walks and there is a supermarket (open even on Sundays) and a little place to eat on grounds. All in all very nice!
