The mattresses on the beds are a little hard and the rooms have signs of wear and tear (we stayed in Wokefield Place, not the Mansion House).

The hotel grounds are lovely with several designated walks and views over the golf course. The lobby area is welcoming with pretty decor and indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are helpful and accommodating. Breakfast is very good and plentiful. The pool is clean and warm with complimentary towels. Decent sized, clean rooms.

The beds in family rooms and staff at the desk are not helpful, but the managers both night and the morning shift got things done them selves properly. Bars food is expensive

Pool changing area needs serious attention and update. Staff supervision is non existent and late in the evening they rely on young inexperienced staff. Breakfast - we were on a return trip from Germany and felt ashamed to be British. Cold food, limited choice of yoghurt, fruit etc, coffee machine just awful and again supervisor needs to be proactive.

Booking a table for people with dogs.

Couldn’t get seated in bar restaurant with two dogs. I booked a table at reception, however bar staff said they don’t hold tables. We were unable to eat.

I didn’t like the fact the advert seemed ever so slightly misleading (granted I should have also read the small print). Obviously depending on the room value will also depend on where you stay. Which is either the estate hotel or the golf club hotel. To me it wasn’t very obvious. Once I got over the embarrassment everything was ok! Haha Also the room was clean in the areas that you could see but behind cupboards and my hair dryer was very much in need of some TLC!

I thought the main reception space was excellent with a lovely bar and restaurant boasting lush views of the golf course. The staff were excellent and very well turned out with a friendly demeaned and very approachable. I also loved the toiletries and have now purchased some myself. The room service was excellent and the good very good too, especially the BREAKFAST which I must say was excellent all round!

Would have been good to have a play area for young children

It was very relaxing, the gym facilities were enjoyed. We had a meal on the 3rd April with 4 other adults and 4 children. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered and it arrived together so we were very happy with that.

The service in the restaurant was a little bit slow and we had to ask a couple of times to get water. We didn't get our desserts so cancelled them.

The staff in the hotel were amazing. They made you feel special. Nothing was too much trouble. They were friendly and polite.

Breakfast was very disorganised. Lengthy queue to get into the restaurant and no communication from staff or management of the queue. Seating volume inadequate for number of guests. Food quality was good but as a hot buffet style breakfast, the food temperature was warm only.

The bed was rather small. No fault of theirs, the alarm went off, and it caused disruption to rest. I think that the rooms still contained dust in areas, as dust ended up on our clothes, and the drainage in the bathroom needed to be seen to. Even though the breakfast was good, to keep the food warm, I think it would help if the plates were warmed.

The scenery and atmosphere were absolutely gorgeous. The hotel provided peace and relaxation from everyday life. The breakfast was good. The space to work downstairs was fabulous. It was quiet and every member of the staff was friendly. If food was ordered to be taken back to the room, they used containers that were suitable to use and journey through the hotel.
