Lovely quiet location, even with several golfers around.

It was very hot in the room. We tried to turn the radiators off but it was still hot. As it was a ground floor room we didn’t want to leave a window open overnight. We were awoken by an earsplitting alarm at 4.15am on the first night, but we think that must have been other guests so probably wasn’t the fault of the golf club.

The setting, near the clubhouse of the golf club, surrounded by the greens and a pretty pond, was lovely. It was a very peaceful location with great views of beautiful countryside as you arrive and leave. The beds were comfortable (only twin beds available, no doubles.) We had all the facilities you’d need for a short stay.

I could not fault this stay.

Lovely location. Someone phoned me the day before to make sure I arrived to get my key and give me any other helpful details. Staff very friendly, lovely quiet location, access to a fridge, and small sitting room, ordered a take away breakfast and how coffee in the morning as I needed to get on the road. I would recommend this stay and will return if in the area.

This place was amazing. Quiet clean comfortable and the surroundings just beautiful. The Golf course surrounded the entire place which made it look green and relaxing. The staff were all so polite and helpful.The highlight of our stay was the delicious breakfast. The dining room and service was very good. Loved this place and definitely returning again. There was nothing you could complain about.

The service was well above and beyond what you Would expect they could not do enough for me. It was probably the best breakfast that I have ever had in a hotel. Points out of 10 I would give them 12. Value for money was exceptionally good.

Their unwavering helpfulness and kind attitude added a warm touch to the overall experience, making my stay truly enjoyable. Special mention to Ebony for texting and informing me ahead of the restaurant closure on a snowy day. That helps a lot. Thank you, Ebony. We love the location of the hotel right inside the golf area too which had only 8 twin rooms.

Not really anything to dislike! Google directions didn’t quite lead us to the right place and check in timings can be a bit limited depending on whether or not there’s an event in at the golf club. We found the staff very helpful though in helping us to resolve this.

We are already familiar with Woodsome Hall as we used to live in the area. This was our first time at Dormy House to stay to visit friends and family locally. It did not disappoint. It’s a beautiful setting, very cosy and home like. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We also loved the breakfasts, all cooked to perfection. The staff are all great and we will definitely be staying here again for future visits to HD8. Thank you!

We couldn’t get in the room as the key wouldn’t work. We tried, as did a member of staff, for sometime and had to go in a different room. The only issue we had was the delay left us no time to get ready for a birthday meal we were going to. This was disappointing but I would highly recommend this for an overnight stay.
