Overall satisfied with the night spent at the hotel!

Unfortunately our room was above the bin storage area, didn’t like being woken up at 5.45 by dragging of bins to and fro for nearly an hour!

The room was lovely. We had an evening meal in the restaurant with our daughter and her family which was very good and breakfast the next morning was delicious too!

Upstairs somewhat old and poorly maintained. Access to our room uncomfortable - through a maze of stairs and corridors with no lift. The room was unbearably hot - although all the appliances were shut down, a large diameter very hot heating pipe ran through the bathroom and along two walls of the bedroom. The sash window could only be opened a few centimetres, not enough to let the heat escape! The shower control was broken, allowing the choice only of extremely cold water or unbearably hot water.

    The location, bar and restaurant

The one, very big, downside to the stay was the fact my room was like a sauna. It wasn't a warm night so goodness knows what temperature it reaches in summer! I obviously opened the window as wide as it would go and slept without sheets or duvet. My sleep score on fitbit was the lowest in months.

Nice hotel with well designed dining/breakfast and bar area with plenty of space and light. The rooms are colourfully decorated and are much more tasteful than they appear on the photos!

Almost certainly a one off but as the establishment appeared to be unaware of the issue until we flagged it it gets a mention. The window in the bedroom needs new sash cords; it would not stay open without being wedged with some of the books that were probably intended only to be decorative. We enjoyed the irony: an ancient copy of Great Expectations was what it took to meet our not so great expectation that we might be able to regulate the environment in the room. What the dickens..?!

Decent bar, excellent restaurant and a lovely room, all contained in a quirky building with stacks of history. Lots of nice individual touches around the place made this feel a million miles away from a typical "chain" hotel. Attentive staff who genuinely seemed to want to make everything is comfortable as possible were the icing on the cake. We had a really pleasant stay.

    Nothing another excellent stay

We love the location of the Wynnstay and its lovely lawned inner garden. The staff are vert attentive and professional. We love the interior design and cleanliness of the place. Putting chocolate treats in the rooms demonstrates how the enjoyment of guests is really thought about. Lovely standard of food at breakfast and dinner.

Had a few issues with the shower mixer not working and shower head wouldn’t stay up. One of the Saturday evening bar staff was a bit rude and charged us for a couple of large measures as I only ordered single drinks. I didn’t check receipt until I got back to our room.

Beautiful old building with lovely rooms. Great breakfast and most of the staff were friendly.

Mix up on rooms at check in despite sending a room occupation list shower cold, when re booted became red hot or freezing cold At no time when I booked the restaurant was I informed that it was cashless. one person had to pay on card and keep cash thrown in by all. This is a poor show.

Great location breakfast and evening meal food quality was excellent

Maybe the corridors and bedroom doors are a little tired looking but im really being a bit petty ,it is an old building .

The location was excellent and having a private car park was great. The bar and restaurant were lovely and the breakfast was really good.I couldn't fault the hotel and facilities for the price ,outstanding.

Bed was a bit firm for me personally. Extractor fan a bit noisy but they have extra glazing to dull the sound, which works well.

The pub next door to the hotel has a beer garden, to be fair the noise is not excessive and stops at 11:30pm but it is a little disturbing and makes it difficult to go to sleep unless you have the TV on to mask the sound.

The room was very comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. Slept extremely well. Breakfast was excellent, good quality ingredients.
