Knew there was no lift but was not expecting to carry luggage up two and a bit flights of stairs (expected a first floor room) and along corridors. There were steps also into the bathroom where there was mould in the shower. Headboard had a layer of dust. Room overlooked the ducting and woken very early by laundry lorry outside. Long walk from car park to reception.

Good position in the town but a long walk from the car park to reception. Sunday evening meal tasted like rehashed carvery food but there was plenty of it. Breakfast was good but service was a bit slow.

Inconsistent cocktails in bar, even from their own list. Barman couldn't prepare a Bellini. Standard double room was small with room only for one easy chair. Our other room was a suite which was excellent. No resident's lounge and only a handful of comfortable seats in the bar. Horrible piped music outside next to the bowling green was too loud and completely out of character with the hotel, it spoiled the experience of sitting in the sun. Even Shazam could not identify this muzac.

Location is great, centre of Oswestry. Car parking is very secure and plentiful. Breakfast was good. Decor is modern and comfortable. Restaurant food was very good. Room and bed were comfortable. Tea and coffee making in room was good.

I do feel it was a bit expensive, I would like rate without breakfast..... £15 for breakfast, which wasn't worth it plus there are so many places near the hotel which are really nice and £6.50 for full English

WiFi could at times be slow to connect but overall very good.

Really excellent stay in this hotel, would recommend if you are in this area of the country. Couldn’t do enough for us, excellent on site facilities.

Unfortunately our room was above the bin storage area, didn’t like being woken up at 5.45 by dragging of bins to and fro for nearly an hour!

The room was lovely. We had an evening meal in the restaurant with our daughter and her family which was very good and breakfast the next morning was delicious too!

Upstairs somewhat old and poorly maintained. Access to our room uncomfortable - through a maze of stairs and corridors with no lift. The room was unbearably hot - although all the appliances were shut down, a large diameter very hot heating pipe ran through the bathroom and along two walls of the bedroom. The sash window could only be opened a few centimetres, not enough to let the heat escape! The shower control was broken, allowing the choice only of extremely cold water or unbearably hot water.

The atmosphere is so welcoming and relaxing. Our room was perfect……. Clean, comfy bed and everything that we needed.

The one, very big, downside to the stay was the fact my room was like a sauna. It wasn't a warm night so goodness knows what temperature it reaches in summer! I obviously opened the window as wide as it would go and slept without sheets or duvet. My sleep score on fitbit was the lowest in months.

Nice hotel with well designed dining/breakfast and bar area with plenty of space and light. The rooms are colourfully decorated and are much more tasteful than they appear on the photos!
