Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The cottage is surrounded by a calm atmosphere. The garden and rooms including its living room are all well maintained and very clean. The living room is an English traditional style cosy room with a fireplace. A hot and delicious breakfast is served every morning in the dining room. Bathroom is also very clean with plenty of towels and amenities. The bedroom is good size and we could see a wonderful view, the farm, the trees in the garden, the birds and the squirrels from the window, and twinkled stars in the sky at night. Best of all are the hosts. They are so kind, friendly and lovely women. We’ve got along with soon. I had a relaxing and comfortable time. Thanks to them, we had a wonderful holiday. We will surely visit here again.

United KingdomFrom the first moment we walked through the door, we felt welcomed and relaxed. The only thing we didn't like was the fact that we only had two days here.
We loved this place, area and hosts so much that we will be back. A secret paradise found. This area is special, and if you're after a peaceful retreat to a beautiful part of the world with wonderful hosts, this is the place for you.

United KingdomNothing.
Anna was so kind all the way through. Had so much to share about the area. Walks, Her knowledge of the area from a whole wealth of experience was inspiring to listen to. Her travel stories really moved us - everyone in the family especially my mum, (if you wanted to hear them and she has capacity - of course she doesn't impose and gives you the space to do your own thing). The garden was beautiful, the cottage had a very homely feel and she even made some really insightful book recommendations when I asked her. It was a great location to go for a quiet wander and close enough to places to visit. We were there for a wedding mainly but made a proper holiday out of it!

United KingdomI could not fault the place or people!
Yew Tree cottage is an idyllic property set in a beautiful location. I could not of asked for more hospitable hosts. The property is spotless and tastefully decorated. The property boasts excellent Wi-Fi and all the creature comforts of home. The local area has a restaurant within walking distance ( The cider barn - Dunkertons ) which serves the most delicious food and locally produced Herefordshire cider. I strongly recommend a pint of Dunkertons Black Fox organic cider.

The location was excellent as we wanted a quiet, relaxing break. There was a good choice for breakfast and a very relaxed atmosphere. United KingdomThere was absolutely nothing about the place we disliked. It was comfortable, clean, cosy, attractive, pleasant (especially the gardens) the list goes on and on...10 out of 10!
Everything about our experience at YTC was EXCEPTIONAL...Anna & Karen couldn't have been more caring and obliging...they went out their way to make our stay enjoyable, content and memorable. You could not meet two warmer and more polite human beings, whom my partner and I now consider life friends. In fact, we look forward to the return! Anna is like a sunflower..radiant & delightful and Karen is like a breath of fresh air and never without a smile on her face! The bed we slept in was extremely comfy and we slept right through due to the peace&quiet of the surroundings. Access to the property was easy enough. We didn't struggle to find it from Pembridge village due to the fact Anna's directions were spot on! The house has that mixture of "oldy-worldy" and modern. It has that real "country" feel about it, and if you glance out the window for just a second you will see amazing wildlife and stunning garden views. PS both ladies make a very YUMMY scrambled egg on toast! :p
