Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSofa could have been a little more comfy. Picnic table outside would have been better as two chairs and table, more comfortable than bench seating. Not safe to use mobility scooter on lane as no pavements, so drove into village, worth knowing if you have similar mobility issues. More abled visitors can use a back public footpath across fields for quicker access to the village.
Lovely location. Pubs/shops within a mile. Quiet. Key access easy. Kitchen minimally fitted out for two. Small fridge, microwave in a cupboard. Plenty of hot water. Clean comfortable bed. Parking free and near the apartment. WiFi. Very clean and décor lovely. Comfortable clean bed. Great place near to many tourist locations.

United KingdomThe weather was awful with heavy rain for most of our stay which resulted in a lot of flood water everywhere. It was a shame as we would have liked to have gone out more on foot. The local pub looked good but would have been a bit far to walk with the poor weather conditions so we didn't attempt it.
Lovely self contained studio in a peaceful location ideal for a relaxing break. The studio contained everything we needed for our short stay. The owner was friendly and welcomed us on arrival and provided contact details in case we needed anything. Fresh milk along with tea and coffee had been provided which was thoughtful.

United KingdomNothing to dislike.
Our second stay at Yew Tree View, great value for money, well equipped, clean, warm, easy check in (key safe). Although compact, the kitchen has a small fridge, a two plate hob and microwave, plus plenty of utensils, pans etc so self catering is perfectly feasible - we ate in 3 nights out of 4. Marnhull is a lovely village, and the food at the Crown is great. Lots of walks nearby, fields rather muddy at the moment but that's hardly surprising given the recent rain!

AustraliaThis is a great 2-room apartment in a modern annex near the host's house. Quiet with rural views has all you need for self-catering. Kitchenette has a microwave, 2 burner glass cooktop and a bar fridge. Separate toilet and washbasin. Separate shower opens into the kitchen but wasn't a problem for us. Host Peter was very helpful, printed off some documents we needed, very generous. Parking almost at the door. Great heating all through. Would definitely book here again.

Although we didn't meet our hosts, communication was very easy and they were on hand had we wanted any help.

United KingdomThe shower cubicle is directly off the kitchen (but it's enclosed & roomy enough), might not suit everyone although it was absolutely fine for our needs.
A beautiful location, calm & tranquil with stunning Dorset views; it's SO quiet, absolute bliss. Lovely village & pub a mile away, with Salisbury Cathedral approx 50 mins drive (well worth a visit), or you could get there by train from Gillingham (a 15 min drive away), which also connects with London & Exeter. Loved the area so much we booked to stay an extra night. The accommodation had everything needed for a short break. Lovely outside area to sit & eat or have a drink . Appreciated the milk & tea bags left for us. Would happily book again.

United KingdomThe accommodation had a couple of minor niggles, toilet seat wobbly, bed frame slightly wobbly too. I didn't receive details beforehand about parking or key safe code but I rang the owner & he was very friendly & helpful so that was sorted pretty quickly. Might be worth doing that before you arrive when you have a good phone signal, this is understandably patchy in such a rural area. The shower cubicle is directly off the kitchen (but enclosed) which might not be for everyone although it was fine for our needs.
