Dinner was a little pricey but with the cost of a stay being so low I didn't mind.

Plenty of parking, rooms was clean and spacious, beds were comfy, showers and toilets were lovely, communal area was a great bonus area, evening meal and breakfast were beautiful. The walking routes we were doing incorporated ilam hall so was perfect starting point for us. Grounds are beautiful and staff were amazing. Just an all round lovely stay. Basic but comfortable.

More places to hang clothes would be good (perhaps use the redundant kitchen space), more staff needed on duty at busy times so that wait times are shorter.

A stunning property in a beautiful location. Staff who go above and beyond. Room large, clean and comfortable.

Beds aern't the biggest and where are bunk beds taller people like myself might be slightly restricted by the metal frame. No phone signal which didn't bother but take into consideration

Amazing old building, beautiful surroundings, helpful and freindly staff and amazing value for money!

Bright green fire safety light in dorm meaning if you were on the top bunks you couldn’t get a dark night’s sleep 😴 The light wouldn’t turn off for safety reasons - understand able but glad I was in bottom bunk!

    N/A

Just spent a solo weekend away at YHA Ilam Hall. My first time in a UK YHA. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the beautiful Peak District. I had the best time, everyone was so welcoming and helpful. The location is of course perfect for the walks of Dovedale and Thorpe Cloud. Was very muddy across the public footpath walk to the stepping stones but just what I needed to relax and unwind. I recommend the Tissington Trail, sausage roll from The Old Dog pub, beautiful Bakewell and Sir Philip bitter. Already planning my next stay so I can do the Monsal Trail. Thank you for a lovely weekend.
