Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNo WiFi or TV meant rooms were very basic. With no breakfast included it meant that you were paying just for going to sleep there.
Great location to train station and walks around Lee Valley. Accommodation was good.

United KingdomSome updating/maintenance required in the rooms. For example in the room I stayed in, the coat hanger on the wall was not secure, and very loose. The taps in the toilet/bathroom just spray out single jets, and not a smooth and even stream of water. Taps are maybe like that by design - but, needs updating (in my opinion). Not all all the bedside lamps were working in the room. There were a number of ladybugs in the room that we spotted. Some simple maintenance is needed, which would help provide a better experience of the accommodation.
It was great value for money. There was ample parking available. The staff at the property were all friendly and provided us with all the necessary information.

United KingdomIt was so near the train station however the road on the way to the hotel was very dark at night and we (me and my sister) were so scared so we ran 😅 I hope the hotel can install some lampposts along the road from the station all the way to the hotel 🤓 Other than that everything was EXCELLENT !!!❤️
Everything was excellent 🥺 I will surely recommend this place to everybody who is coming to London

GermanyYou need a Fob/Pass to leave the accommodation/re enter the reception from the already closed off hotel accommodation. Im sure there are security reasons for this but when travelling with a party of 5 with only 1 pass, it means if anyone leaves the rest are essentially locked in.
Value for money, second time staying here, knew what to expect. Staff were friendly and generous all you can eat breakfast for very reasonable prices.

New ZealandOnce we had to wait half an hour for a staff member to appear (my 5 year old granddaughter got inpatient). Not a great selection of dinner meals (I am vegetarian), would have liked more small healthy vegetable dishes.
Close to railway station, open spaces, proximity to more open spaces and water. Breakfasts good and children free.

United KingdomThere’s a little worn out feeling to the building and a slight reminiscence of university halls - with kids it felt a little odd and out of place but not entirely a problem
We were looking for a place to crash one night and this was perfect , we had one dorm room for our group and we literally was only there for the night. But I am so pleased with the facilities we are now considering signing up for the YHA membership! Place is very well kept , the staff are always helpful. We missed breakfast but the menu is great and affordable and if I recall correctly there are other items available throughout the day as well as vending machines.

CanadaThere is no Wi-Fi available in the rooms, only in the main lobby area.
I had a lovely stay at YHA London Lee Valley. The cabins are situated in a beautiful park-like area, just a short walk from Cheshunt train station. My room was located in Cabin 4 which had a private kitchen and eating area for guests with a fridge to store food. Basic room with a private bathroom with shower, two twin beds, a desk, and a small cupboard. No amenities are provided so you need to bring your own soap etc. Towels are available for rent for 2 pounds at reception which is open 24 hours and serves coffee, some snacks, drinks, and alcohol. There are also vending machines available in the lobby and a dining room open during certain hours for breakfast, lunch and dinner orders. The full English breakfast was ample and included a cereal station, a toast station, and unlimited coffee, tea, and juices. Staff are incredibly friendly and the receptionist, Lloyd, was amazing and always helpful. Overall great value for money and a beautiful setting. I will definitely stay here again!
