Hostel bottom floor has a bar which is a fantastic social spot, brilliant staff, and they do a top quiz night! Great location was just round the corner from the main bus station. Secure lockers in the room.

During my entire visit, my light (nor plug sockets) were working so if I wanted to read in the evening, I wasn’t able to, because the only alternative would be putting the light on for the room when people are trying to sleep. I also wasn’t too pleased about being told, on arrival (on a Friday-Monday trip) that breakfast was 7.30-10, and then when I go to have breakfast on Monday at 9.15, I’m told that breakfast stops at 9 on weekdays. Luckily the staff at the reception (which is in the restaurant/ bar area in the day) let me have some cereal, and then asked if I wanted tea, coffee or juice, and then asked if I wanted any pastries, and so made up for it.

We all had a ‘crable’ next to our beds which you could put stuff on and had charging sockets and a light. The staff were very friendly.

The bathroom was tiny. The location wasn't bad, but also wasn't too ideal. 15-20 mins walk from the train station.

The beds were comfy, there was an attached bathroom which was convenient. There was a also a pub downstairs which was really cool. Enough storage space to keep your stuff underneath the beds.

We didnt' realise that we had to provide our own towels or hire them from the hostel.

The location was great, the price was excellent. The beds were comfortable and the shower was good. We literally wanted somewhere to sleep so didn't expect much but were pleasantly surprised. It was myself and my 13YO son. We did book a larger room so we had more space. We also paid to leave a bag in luggage storage which was only £2 and you had until 11pm to collect it.

The bathroom “pod” might not be to everyone’s liking - but hey, it’s much better than many other hostels and it works.

It's a shame there's no kitchen facilities available. I'd spend more in the bar if it was a little cheaper for the guests. Wasn't a fan of luggage storage charges before check in. 11/4/24 - It's very disheartening to learn in the response to this review about a 20% discount in the bar for food and drinks after I checked out. I was there for five nights and had coffee and beers every day and was charged what was on the menus. I was never told it once and chatted with you every day. You knew I was staying in the hostel. I even applied for a job. No where near the cheapest in Newcastle city centre either. Your cheapest pint is £4.50. I can find it for £2.77 in town. 60% more :)

This hostel surpassed my expectations by far. It's uncommon to find a hostel as clean as this one. Newcastle is a city that is overlooked, but it truly deserves a few days of exploration. Just a word of caution: the coffee packs a punch, so be prepared for its strength. Free laundry! 10 minute walk from the train station and 5 minutes from the bus. Amazing value.

The mattresses don’t have springs so are not supportive and are uncomfortable. There are tv’s but are not connected to an Arial and connecting to internet so you can watch Netflix just doesn’t seem to be possible so we were unable to use it.

Great location, great price, breakfast is available, nice bar, place is clean, staff are friendly and we were able to check in early. We also had towels provided free of charge.

Room 310 the window doesn't close properly so there is draft coming through which ended up with me getting a cold The dorms are small with 2 people in there their isn't much space with 4 would be not a lot of space

Temperature control in the room seemed to be faulty meaning the room was very hot. Unfortunately there was no sanitary waste bin in the building, neither downstairs in the disabled toilet or upstairs in or near the rooms which meant that it was difficult to dispose of incontinence waste. It would be great if there were sanitary waste bins at the property so that when needed people can discreetly dispose of products with dignity rather than taking them away from the hostel.

The bathroom door had swelled in the frame so was incredibly noisy to open and close in a dorm room full of people. Doors and walls were thin so you could hear a lot of noise from the hallway. That being said, not bad for how cheap it was.

Good value for a hostel. Accommodation was very clean, beds were comfortable and each room had its own bathroom per room. Each bed had a great charging stand with wireless charging, powerpoints and a personal light
