Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe curtain needs replacing. There isn't much space to park and it's a little tricky.
The sound of the ocean through the open window. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.

United KingdomParking was difficult and if you were the first one back you would be the last to leave due to cars being crammed into a tiny space. Also steps down to the youth hostel, which were a slip hazard due to the weather, would have been good if the volunteers had removed the wet leaves daily! There was not enough comfortable seating and the rooms could do with a comfy chair as no where to sit. Other than that a lovely restful stay, I would book again.
The location was lovely, quiet and a view of the sea from our bedroom window. Facilities good and well stocked kitchen with everything needed for our short stay.

United KingdomOn a steep narrow road, this in itself was not a problem, but we found one of the locals unfriendly and impatient whilst we were trying to park. The property is accessed by going down a number of steps. This was not a problem for us, but would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The location is beautiful, with fantastic views. Very nice garden with picnic benches making the most of the view. Good kitchen and dining facilities and value for money. There is parking available, and although limited, it worked well.

CanadaThe drive to this location is harrowing especially for non-UK drivers. The road leading to the hostel itself is one track, winding and up hill. This is a rural Welsh thing, not a hostel thing, but it would have been nice to know beforehand.
Nice desk volunteers. Easy check in. Quiet room. Nice view.

United KingdomThe bin hadn’t been emptied in our room, but it did not affect our stay in the slightest.
Such a beautiful little spot, topped off by watching dolphins play in the bay just before sunset. We were given a ground floor room which we asked for which overlooked the stunning scenery. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful.

United KingdomThe only drawback to this beautiful hideaway is the steps up & down to it. I have asthma that doesn’t usually bother me too much but I did need my inhaler but the time I get up to the top where my car was parked. Also my mum struggled with the stairs.
This is a beautiful hideaway there is very little signal so nobody can bother you & the place was very clean, the kitchen had everything you could need to whip up your meal (if you fetched your own food to cook). The communal toilets & shower rooms where very clean & the showers water pressure was amazing. Even the rooms where lovely I was in a group of 3 & we all woke up & said it was the best nights sleep we had had in ages. But what topped everything was the view it was absolutely stunning, it felt like another world. People would pay a fortune to stay somewhere with a view like that. My mum is 67 & had never stayed in a youth hostel until we stayed here on our holiday to Tenby & she said she would happily go back she loved it that much. I would most definitely recommend this place & Poppit sands beach is a must while you are there which is down the side of the lifeboat station at the bottom of the hill up to the hostel.

United KingdomI slept ok on the polyurethane profiling mattress but ached a bit next morning. Probably fine for younger people but not so supple at 60. Limited parking adjacent to the hostel. I was able to squeeze my car in with some difficulty but if you have to park in the public car park then you have a lengthy uphill walk to the hostel.
Location and view were fabulous and helpful and friendly staff. Room and bedlinen were clean. Amazing value especially if you book direct on YHA website. Ferry Inn riverside pub/restaurant in nearby St. Dogmaels is excellent.

United KingdomNothing that can be easily changed but the parking is extremely limited and based on the skill how other drivers park. The walls are quite thin and you would always hear how people are walking by, opening every door if you are a light sleeper - earplugs would help.
A very good standard for a hostel. Everything was clean, the beds were very comfortable, bed linens smelled very nice and fresh; we had a good night sleep with a sea view. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The location is great; sadly the weather wasn't too great during our stay to fully enjoy the outdoors.
