How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Simple check in, good location, helpful staff! My room was pretty compact but this was known prior to the stay! The Room itself had everything you need was quiet and dark when needed. Z Hotel served a purpose for a quick business trip to London and did not disappoint.

Rooms was a little compact but not really a bad thing.

Can be great value but prices can be exceptionally variable depending on time of booking and what's happening in London.
Z-Hotels are always a good bet if there's availability. Super comfy, big telly, well positioned in Central London. Always a first port-of-call if I can get a room at the right price

The room is extremely small, and to access the room is very weird. There are several stairs, so it's very bad if you have lots of luggage.
The location is great and rooms are very quiet at night.

The check in receptionist was somewhat aggressive regarding the evidence I had to produce regarding my identity and payment credentials, before we were allowed in, despite having already made a non-refundable payment. This was a poor and unpleasant welcome. In contrast, the staff the following morning at breakfast were helpful and pleasant.
Was convenient for an overnight stay. Breakfast was good.

Edging round shower and loo cubicle starting to look quite grubby - know this is wear and tear but always v important and easy to see from the bed!

The rooms are very_ compact, and there is very little room for suitcases on the floor or anywhere else either. I was very glad to have a window- although the view was of a lot of other buildings and air conditioning ducts. To be fair, the description does indicate room size, and everything else was satisfactory. Would stay again- but book the bigger room 😀
Very near Holborn tube, ideally placed for Covent Garden and the Thames. Would stay again.

The rooms were unusually small. The room I was given had the view of the rubbish bin alley and the A/C wasn't effective. The night manager John was very kind enough to offer breakfast to compensate the discomfort we were going through. Over-all I was happy with the hotel.
The location was so central to most of the attractions in UK. It also very short walk to all the theaters and that was awesome.

Queen size bed is up against the wall on 3 sides - makes it hard for the person on the inside to get up in the middle of the night without waking their partner.
Rooms are tiny but we know that; a little squeezed if you have several suitcases but tons are new/modern and well maintained. Staff was friendly & attentive. Location is biggest seeking point, super convenient!

The room was small, but suited us perfectly. We were only staying one night and it was just what we were looking for. Great value for money and really nice staff on check in. The shower room was spotlessly clean and the bed was clean and comfortable. The hotel was quiet in the night, so we had a good sleep.
