How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Hotel has no elevator - economy rooms are on 5th floor and it does get hard to climb there. So consider this, if you have any issues with climbing stairs.
We really enjoyed our stay and will come back when in Batumi. The hotel has most central location, right next to cable car station. The room is very cosy, staff was helpful and kind to all our needs. Breakfast was the best we had so far in Georgia, buffet style with a lot of options.

Very nice hotel, good location, friendly staff, good breakfast, parking is possible. Easy access by car. Cable car station next to the hotell provides easy access to nearby mountain.

Our room absorb the smoke from out. Therefore the room smell cigarette.

Can get a bit noisy - thin walls and doors mean you can hear other guests, particularly those with small children.
The location is superb; the staff are wonderful; the bed was very comfortable; the shower was great; the breakfast was delicious; parking was easy

We stayed on the 5th floor and there is no lift so this would be unsuitable for elderly or disabled guests.
Extremely good location right opposite the lower cable car station. Walking distance to all attractions. Exceptional value for money. Genuinely friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable and well appointed room. The breakfast offered enormous variety.

I liked everything there. No complains.
Excellent Breakfast with perfect Turkish coffee and friendly staff. Perfect location - in the old town, easily accessible, near the Old harbour area.

Amazing hotel in beautiful location, extraordinarily helpful staff, beautiful rooms, clean and great prices on the booking.com site. All together a beautiful and nice placr to stay in slight luxury.

The hotel is very clean and located very good. I would specially like to mention the kindness and consideration I received from the reception. As I had to a change in my plans and to leave a day before, and return a couple of days later. The worker in reception agreed to change the days in a short notice without charge. Breakfast was also very good, and the rooms are quite big. Highly recommend!

All staff specially vaku, Edward and Genio all receptions also all cafeteria staff who serve at breakfast are with pleasant gesture, friendly and caring people. I am very grateful to them and it's one of the best hotel.

I didn't realize that there wasn't an elevator, but maybe I missed it in my booking. There is safe parking, but its not convenient
Its very clean, smells good, and the room was well appointed with all the necessary items, plus a small fridge. Daily breakfast had both variety and taste. The staff was genuine and accommodating.

I was sorry I could not stay longer.
Everything! The location. The cleanliness. The large shower. The quick hot water even at 5 am. The bathrobe and slippers. The free water. The numerous outlets at table height. The breakfast. The woman in charge of the breakfast room. Even called the daughter of the owner who speaks fluent English to ask me if I wanted anything else . The two men who alternate long shifts at the front desk were wonderful. When I arrived, the one on duty bolted downstairs and took my bags up. When I left at 6am the other young man took my bags down and also used an app to get me a more reasonable taxi.
