Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaShower wasn't warm when we arrived in the afternoon and still tepid when we showered a few hours later, price was much higher than older guesthouses nearby. The room was advertised as having soundproofed walls but we could hear everything happening in the two rooms next to us and one room above, the couple talking quietly in bed, the sound of the shower and others going to the toilet. Also there would have been a beautiful night sky to see but bring lights just outside the balcony shone bright all night so we couldn't see anything.
New, comfy beds, heating, air conditioning. Food delicious and plentiful.

BelgiumAbsolutely no criticism. This is a stunningly located and comfortable spot.
This hotel is on a different level to anything else we experienced during our hike in the Svaneti region. As soon as we walked in we were delighted and sat down to a very nice lunch. The rooms are minimal and excellent, really big with great water pressure and seriously comfortable beds. Both breakfast and dinner were more than ample, and the hostess is one of the most charming and energetic people I’ve met in Georgia - nothing was a problem, and she literally ran around catering to everyone’s needs. A delight.

Israeleverything was very nice, clean and comfortable. no complaints.
We liked that this location shortened our hike for the day by 4 kilometers and it was a rainy hard hike that day. Also the woman who owns the place greeted us very warmly. the place is brand new, and the comfortable beds and warm showers were most welcome. The food was very good - especially the breakfast. She washed and dried our wet clothes for us which was super nice. My sons forgot their walking sticks and they sent it to Mestia the next day.

GeorgiaDefinitely the best place to stay along the Khalde-Ushguli route! Hotel exceeded all expectations. The rooms were incredibly comfortable, and having separate bathrooms in each room was a big plus. The beds were cozy, ensuring a good night's rest after a day of hiking. And oh, the views from the hotel – breathtaking! Waking up to the majestic mountains and scenic landscapes was a highlight of our stay. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a memorable experience in Svaneti.

BelgiumThe accommodation is situated perfectly when you hike from Mestia to Ushguli till example. Getting there by car is a challenge but possible if you drive a 4x4.
The hotel is brand new. The beds are very good. You get a very warm welcome in a remote but very interesting community. It is located in the village Khana, well off the beaten track.

AustraliaAs the hotel is new, there are still some kinks to work out. We were unable to lock our door, there was no toilet paper in our bathroom when we arrived and also no shampoo or shower soap, which I would have expected at this price point. There was a sewerage like smell coming from the bathroom, although this faded over time (or maybe we just got used to it). The wifi was spotty and, unlike every other guesthouse where we stayed on the trail, there was a separate charge for coffee and tea. I’m sure the hotel will be fantastic once some of these issues are sorted out, but for now we found it expensive compared to the excellent value afforded by other places we stayed at along the trail.
We stayed here during our Mestia-Ushguli hike. After reading the reviews I was really looking forward to staying at Gaul Gavkhe, but found it didn’t quite rise to meet my expectations. Firstly, the good. It’s right on the trail at Khalde and has beautiful views over the river. The hotel only opened a month ago, so everything is brand new. We had a double bed room and it was by far the most comfortable bed we had on the hike, and even better than many other hotels we’ve stayed in. I loved the big windows, which maximized the views and let in lots of light. The lady who runs the hotel is lovely and works really hard from morning to night. She is also a fantastic cook and we enjoyed some of the best food of our hike here. There is an outdoor garden where you can sit and relax as well as an indoor space to chill.
