Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomShower is on the bottom floor near the reception so you have to walk down there with all your stuff and then back up.
Although it is called a hostel you have your own private room, it is just the kitchen/toilet/shower facilities that are shared. Free wifi has a good connection. Staff are really friendly and will show you anything you need, just bear in mind their English is not great. Location is good and near everything you need/want (although Borjomi itself is pretty small). Interior has an old-fashioned look which is charming, not in a run-down sense. Value for money is unbelievable, would recommend to everyone visiting Borjomi.

RussiaIn general, this is an emergency housing, with broken windows, peeling plaster and mold on the ceiling. On cool days it can get quite cold as in the common corridor there are no glass in the windows and in some rooms too. The room is worth it if you check in alone. At any time, they can report that the room is booked and ask to be moved. Including moving to a room with a neighbor, saying that this is actually a hostel and asking for more and pay extra for it. There is only one socket in the room, regardless of the number of beds. The mattresses on the beds are from Soviet times, so the dents, smells and comfort are appropriate. There is no internet in some of the rooms, Wi-Fi simply does not reach them. By the way, smoking is allowed in the rooms, so if you are "lucky" and you live in a room with a door/doors to the neighboring room/rooms, then all the smoke, as well as all the sounds, will be in your room. Upon check-in, they can offer any random room, regardless of which one you actually booked. Have you booked a room with a balcony? Here is a room with a window to the common corridor (where, by the way, the light will be on at night and shine directly into your room). The cleanliness of the toilet is highly dependent on the ability of your neighbors to hit the target. Men often go to the women's toilet, the effect is appropriate. The floor in the toilet becomes very slippery if it gets wet, and this happens very often. You have to go to the cleaners for toilet paper, basically they don’t monitor its presence. The paper itself is the cheapest and toughest. There is no hot water in the sink in the toilet as a class. There is one shower, on the first floor for all residents of the hostel. The attitude of the staff to visitors is highly dependent on how the stars converged on that day. Turning away and not answering your polite questions is considered normal here.
Location Price if you live alone Fast Wi-Fi if you're lucky to live near a router The presence of a kitchen and a kettle (but without dishes, you need to ask) The place is worth it only if you are a lover of "vintage" and if you get a room with a balcony. But 90% of the rooms are without balconies. If the description says that the room has a balcony, it most likely means a shared balcony where the neighbors come to smoke.

United StatesFilthiest men's toilets I've ever seen. Not sure they've had a thorough cleaning since Stalin was around. There's one sit-down toilet in the second building.
Loved this place. Perfect location, right on the river and middle of the tourist district. Room was basic but comfortable, has a nice desk for working. Good wifi but coverage depends on the room. Wonderful balcony overlooking the river, great for working or just relaxing. The staff is a group of kindly women, though they speak no English at all. I ended up extending 4 nights I loved the place so much. Even in July, room never felt hot.

IndonesiaToilets are awful: no light, no water, cannot close the door. Another toilet was pure awfulness and extremely dirty. Some windows cannot be closed and curtains don't cover windows so privacy is pretty much low.
Good bed, cool architecture, helpful staffs though no English is spoken.

RussiaGreat sanatorium with Soviet artifacts) Rooms with decorations from different eras. Wonderful kind staff, thanks to them. The location is awesome - the sanatorium is right on the river, a few minutes to the spring with mineral water, a couple more minutes and you're in the main park of Borjomi with a gorgeous forest, the same river and sulphur pools.

PolandShower was a long way from my room (500m, through many rooms and one floor down). Showers and toilets are in terrible condition. The whole place seems to not have been renovated ever and the building is very old. Prepare for mold, holes in doors, failing locks, walls loosing paint etc. Only one electric socket in a room for 4 people and it doesn't seem to be safe. There is a nice baclony, but all the furniture on it haven't been cleaned for months. You sit once and your clothes are black from dust.

The most kind, familiar and understanding staff. I was treated both as a guest and as a friend. Spacious and private rooms, some with sink and a workdesk. all set in a theatrical environment of a forgotten past. also big balcony with view over the river and bridges.
