Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelOne of the rooms is disconnected to the toilets, and requires going up and down the stairs in order to get to them. It can be a bit annoying+more problematic when it's cold. As said above, the guesthouse is located a bit far from the center, so a short walk is required. It's not a hard walk though.
Irma is very nice and speek English very well. There are multiple toilets and bathrooms, so even if the house is full most of the time there is no waiting for the toilet. It's located in a quiet part of the village (could also be a disadvantage, see below). The beds are comfortable.

AustraliaGreat guest house with spacious, clean and comfortable rooms. There was a nice outside balcony to sit when the weather is nice. The guest house is just outside the main centre of the town, but it’s an easy walk into the main area. Really enjoyed our stay here.

SwitzerlandLovely hosts that can give you tipps for hiking in the area and are happy to help with anything you need. Eventhough there's a lot of open spaces and Mestia can get pretty cold, the beds are super comfy and warm :) Also if you're planning a longer hike, you can leave some of your stuff at the stay.

We stayed here before and after the Mestia to Ushguli hike and had a great time. The family was very welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast was fantastic.

KenyaI ended up staying here nearly three weeks, changing my plans day by day and Irma was so nice about it. She, and her family is lovely. We had some great talks, I got to join milking the cows and making cheese. She also recommended hikes in the area. The house has a great balcony and several bathrooms. It's a short walk from the main street of Mestia which was refreshing. Fingers crossed I will be back one day!

IsraelEverything was good.
Irma and her family were extremely friendly and accommodating. They made us breakfast at 7:30 by request before we left for the Mestia to Ushguli trek (which is earlier than a lot of other guesthouses). The day we left Mestia, kindly made us sandwiches in the morning so we had something to eat for lunch for very reasonable price. They kept our extra luggage during our trek with no additional fee. The guesthouse was clean, shower with good water pressure and hot water, beds were comfortable. They kindly let us use the washing machine.

AustraliaWe immediately liked the vibe of the place, the best guest house we've visited so far in Svanetia. Irma is the perfect host, friendly, always willing to help, knowledgeable of local hikes, and she speaks good English. The other staff are also friendly and helpful. The location is excellent (secluded and quiet, but only a few minutes walk from the centre of Mestia), the food is great, and the guest house is kept spotlessly clean.

United KingdomIt was a little hard to find, which was a bit testing after a long days walk.
It was very clean and comfortable, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the food was absolutely delicious. We arrived quite hungry from a long day of walking and they managed to prepare us a magnificent dinner in around 15 mins which was very much appreciated! Would definitely recommend

SwedenIt was a bit noisy one night, with kids slamming doors and playing until 22:30. Our room faced the common-room and it was not possible to totalty cover the window, so people could look in to our room. Not a problem for us, but good to know if you like privacy. but, in total a very nice stay with a nice family!

NetherlandsIt was a little bit difficult to find, on the booking.com map and maps.me the place is in the wrong location! The correct GPS coordinates are: 43.044823, 42.737893
Spacious, clean, very friendly host. Speaks English and some phrases in several other languages as well. Has maps and guidebooks for the surroundings available. Don't expect luxury, but all basic needs are covered. Such as hot water in the showers, a kettle for coffee/tea, fridge and tableware. From the back exit you're right on the trail for the way towards Addishi and Ushguli

ThailandNothing, it was great! The guesthouse is 10min by foot outside of the center of Mestia, so a little quieter which is nice.
We had a great stay at Irma's! The room was comfy and the baths (there are three!) quite new and very clean. We booked breakfast and dinner at the guesthouse and they were super fresh (all from the garden) and delicious. Breakfast was so much food that we always had something over for lunch when we went hiking. Irma was very friendly and helpful, her English is good. Because it got quite cold at night she provided us with a small heater. It's like holiday on a farm because the stable is right behind the house and you can watch the cows, chicken and bees from the balcony. For normal hiking level we recommend going to the cross and from there to the lakes (or drive to the cross and hike from there, the way up is super steep) and to the glacier (quite easy but nice). For our trip to the glacier her husband drove us until the suspension bridge (the usual fee is 100 Lari, it's good to share with some other hikers). Don't miss the live band at Lile's! We enjoyed our stay a lot.

Germanynothing at all.
Such a nice guest house - 100% in all respects! Very quiet (set back from the street) with tranquil garden but still only few minutes walking distance (and not even uphill) from the center. Irma is super nice and speaks English. Beautiful house and furniture, comfy beds. The 3 bathrooms completely take out any hassle of shared bathrooms (and are clean, and one is very big). Walls between rooms are solid, i.e. sound proof.
