How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Little bit far from the center of Mestia
Great and cheap hostel to meet other hikers starting the Mestia to Usghuli trail.

The old lady owner was grumpy and miserable. She actually told me to stop my soft whistling while I was in the kitchen when she came in to make coffee.
Location was outside the busier centre Although there were 9 beds in the large bedroom, it felt like my bed area was private Comfy bed Enough kitchen equipment Hot shower Great atmosphere, but this was due to the other guests who were staying while I was there Fabulous views from the balcony Good WiFi connection Cheap Good sized table in dining room

Very calm and quiet place where I felt like in home. The room is big, bed was comfortable and in the night it was warm. Small kitchen but it's enough to prepare food. Really nice garden and beautiful view It's 15 minutes walking from center so if you want to rest in peace is perfect 😊

they were such lovely people and the place was so warm and cosy and everyone was chatty because it had a big table with everyone eating and cooking at the same time. they also let us store bags for 2GEL per night which is cheap. the laundry was cheap, the balcony was nice. they have a puppy which got excited to see you when you came in the door

Just a little far from the center of town
Nice cabin feeling, beds are well separated, good facilities and bathrooms/showers. Amazing price for a not annoying hostel

Wonderful place to stay in Mestia! Great hot shower, comfortable beds (15 GEL), kind and helpful owner Bekha and a serviceable kitchen. Very nice views from the big balcony, and very quiet. 10min walk into town. You can leave your luggage if you're doing the trek, 2 GEL per day.

About 800 metres from main road. An easy walk. But might not be for those having a large suitcase!
Superb place. Great value for money! Clean, spacious. Great ambience! Owner is very positive, friendly and helpful! Speaks fluent English! Nice kitchen. Provides luggage storage and laundry. Great place to relax if you're exhausted!

Checkout time was cut to 9:30am, announced by the owner the previous day, then again to 8 o'clock in the morning.
Location is perfect, the owner is friendly and goes out of her way to help guests to enjoy their stay. The food they serve is delicious. Bathroom is clean also. And a big plus is that you can climb up to the tower if you dare :)

The location is great. It's so close to mountains so that you can drink coffee in the morning or read a book with an unbeleivable view. The landlord is really kind.

Nothing really.
Great little place to stay and meet people in Mestia before and after hiking in the area. The bed was very comfortable and the small kitchen is really well equipped. Great wifi. Location good around 15 minutes out of the town centre and was quiet at night. The only noise I heard was animals nearby.

One Shower was broken so the other one gets dirty really fast with that amount of people
It is a cosy place with a big garden and balcony. The beda were also comfortable. There is a good kitchen you can use with coffee, tea & everything you need. it was a pleasure to stay at the hostel.

Amazing hostel to stay at mestia.clean,organized,nice kitchen to cook with all the utensils,hot water,easy to make friends,big garden,friendly owner,basicly whatever a backpacker needs this hostel has it.if you are in mestia,dont look any further and stay here!i would come back without a doubt.
