Great accommodation, not only to see wardzia but also to go hiking. Nico showed us the way up the Cliff, where we had a beautiful hike through the armenian georgian village Kumurdo, along the cliff to the remains of ancient settlement (?) Kilda and then down the Cliff shortly after Kilda (the first road heading downwards that could be driven by a 4wheel drive). Super beautiful. You can see Turkey, Armenia and georgian mountains from up the platou. The tmogvi castle on the other site of the river is also worth a hike but difficult to access. Theona cooked very rich breakfast and dinner for us, including greens from the garden. You can also buy delicious house wine. The accommodation is located in a village, just like you would imagine a village in Georgia, with lots of chickens, cows etc ... The room itself was quite new, wellbuild and clean. You can communicate with Theona in English and with the other family members using a translator or gesture. I strongly recommend visiting this place, not only for one night but longer if you like hiking.

Guest House Tsiskari is a beautiful guest house with the most lovely hosts! Our stay there was one of the highlights of our trip. It was a bit tricky to find it and get there, but once we asked around, we found it quite quickly. They have private parking where you can keep your car overnight, without worry. The rooms are gorgeous, clean and very comfortable. There wasn’t any portable soap in our room, but the second we asked for some, they helped us immediately. We had delicious homemade meals; which most of the ingredients they produced themselves; during our stay (dinner and breakfast), including their homemade wine, which was divine. We are all vegetarians, and they catered to all our dietary needs perfectly. Our hosts were some of the most friendliest people we met during our trip in Georgia. Staying at this guest house is a unique experience you wouldn’t want to miss!

Absolutely nothing. You don’t want to leave.

Very welcoming family that truly care about the guests and their stay. They make homemade food make sure you try. The local wine homemade as well is wonderful. We even got a khatchapuri for on the road. Communication is easy and excellent. Tip: nice walk and trail up the hill.

The rooms were a little bit cold (which is good in summer). Temperature could be adapted via air conditioning.

They were really hospitabl and intimate host for us. The room was tidy and clean everywhere. We only needed to have access to the kitchen despite having some quanderies. They invited us to their private birthday party, and we really enjoyed sinking in gentle Georgian culture thank to our nice host.

We had a great stay at Guesthouse Tsiskari! The owners are very kind and helped us with our flat tire. The room is spacious and has a really nice view on the beautiful garden. Dinner and breakfast were delicious! Very much recommend this place!

We had a lovely time here at Tsiskari Guest House, our room was perfectly clean and comfortable, and the hosts were very accomodating and kind, preparing for us a delicious dinner and breakfast, with the products they raise at the guesthouse. Their garden is absolutely adorable, full of wonderful flowers. We fully recommend this accomodation.

The bathroom is outside on the porch. No table in the room. Seemingly only one of the people involved speaks any English, so communication may be difficult when she is not around.

The large guesthouse garden is exceptionally beautiful and creates an atmosphere of orderliness. Clearly the family has invested a lot in the place. Although most people probably come just for the cave city, it is also possible starting from the guesthouse to a hike up into the hills on either side of the river.

Be aware that the rooms are not equipped for self cooking or washing your clothes.

We were in the new block of three separate rooms wonderfully decorated, new, and clean. The owner’s wife spoke English and her husband helped us jumpstart our dead-battery rental car with his tractor. They have a farm and grow vegetables, we didn’t try their dinner or breakfast as unfortunately we had our own food. Great place for kids to explore the farm life around. We received welcome water that tasted really good.

The family that hosted us was so kind and helpful! They had a lovely place and garden, and everything was so comfortable. The location was perfect, close to Vardzia and in an beautiful village. You could also ask for dinner and breakfast, the food was absolutely great. We asked for a vegetarian dish, and we got an amazing diverse meal! We had a wonderful stay at House Tsiskari!!

What a gorgeous place and wonderful family. Our stay was brief, but we were fed extremely well with aubergine and walnut, chips, potato salad, salad, and homemade orange wine. It’s a handy stopover on the way to or from Vardzia. A little tricky to find - but keep following the road and you’ll get there.

Perhaps a few nice touches for the deluxe room would have been a good addition, as it felt comfortable but a bit on the basic side. Also we found the description inaccurate, as it seemed to imply the room had a private kitchen, however this was the kitchen at the host´s house, which we did not feel comfortable using. Finally the wifi did not work well in our room, the signal was weak and unstable, but there was anyway good phone signal so this wasn´t much of an issue.

Nice room exactly like the pictures, everything was new and the room was comfortable. The hosts were really friendly and made the check-in experience easy and smooth, especially since we booked in the very last minute. The breakfast was fantastic, super tasty traditional food, and so much of it! You could really tell they made an effort to make the guests feel at home and, even though there was some language barrier in english, we managed to communicate without issues. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area.
