I have only a couple of minor criticisms, simply because this is a high-end hotel so the bar is higher than a budget or mid-range place. Please note that overall I rated this place 9/10 and have left lots of positive comments. The hotel page advertises a swimming pool, but it was not open as it was too early in the season; it was late April and 25 degrees, and very sunny. If certain facilities are not available (and this is planned) then they should not be advertised as part of the "room facilities" when someone is selecting a hotel and committing to payment. The 24 hour reception was also not there; shortly after checking in at 730pm I had some questions. I walked downstairs and there was no-one there. I rang the bell and still no-one came, though I could hear loud music playing in the staff room behind the desk. I went back to my room and phoned reception and there was no answer, until eventually I was asked to leave a message. When I checked out I asked to leave some luggage whilst I went to visit the caves; they were very kind and agreed, however my luggage was left next to the desk, in full view, and the desk was often not staffed (e.g. when I returned, there was nobody there, just a sign with the phone number to call for reception). I think a high-end hotel should have a luggage storage room.

The hotel is beautiful and the location is fantastic. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable and the view of the caves from the balcony was wonderful. I walked to the caves (30 minutes from the hotel to the ticket booth) along the road as it was very quiet, but the hotel offered a free transfer service too. The breakfast was tasty and offered a good range of choice. The restaurant for dinner was lovely and the staff were very attentive.

Payment process might need improvement. When we left, there was noboby at the reception and they did not charge us at check-in. So, it was kind of painful to make an international transfer, since they cannot charge our credit card when we are not in site. Pay at check-in, the process will be easier.

Great location. Our room had a stunning view of Vardzia caves that we pretty much appreciated. The hotel has several amenities. We had a great stay.

The hotel restaurant offered food at a very high price (understandable, it's a resort), but the portion and food quality was bad. I didn't like it.

A very well equipped resort near to Vardzia cave. Staffs are friendly and speaks English. The room is clean and comfortable. There's a small garden behind the resort for a small walk.

Great staff that is ready to help you with any questions at any time, views from the rooms are awesome, breakfast is perfect - you can choose from dozens of different meals. Also we got a free upgrade of the booked accomodation to a better one. Hotel area is perfect - you can find cascade of ponds, childrens playground, small waterfall.

The resort is a beautiful place very close to the famous caves and with a stunning view over the valley and mountains; the area around the hotel is like a small and peaceful terraced lush garden with a lot of shadowy small places to rest and relax; the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant serves super delicious traditional food; the sauna and the whirlpool are the perfect final of a hiker's day ;) and the delicious breakfast the perfect beginning...we can recommend the resort without hesitation!

At the border of Armenia and Turkey, the landscapes are stunning. The hotel is located in front of the mountains, next to the beautiful river. A fantastic place for hiking and nature. This hotel is in a fabulous location overlooking the cliff, just 15 minutes from the Vardzia Caves. The staff is very helpful and welcoming. The breakfast is the most special that we tasted during the trip. We also tasted the purple potatoes, which were very tasty. Thank you for a lovely stay

Nothing everything was good

The resort is actually amazing. We were amazed for what they offer, even in out of season. The restaurant served an amazing local cuisine foods and the breakfast was splendid. The view from our room was to die for, We had all the Vardzia monastery to our plate. Great stay if you are nearby

We were the only guests in the hotel, but all of the lights on the property were off, making it a bit treacherous to go to dinner.

The location, as always, is the big selling point for Vardzia Resort, as it is within walking distance of Vardzia proper. The rooms are comfortable, the gardens and facilities are lovely, and the staff do their best to accommodate.

The view from our room was exceptional, mountains and not far from the place Historical Cave City! The restaurant was nice but a bit expensive, breakfast was perfect with a wide chose of delisious meals.

When a hotel indicates it is a spa, services such as massage, facials, etc should be offered. They said non were available.

Where to start? Incredibly friendly staff. Beautiful garden. Grounds are immaculate. Everything is done to with exceptional good taste. Restaurant is beautiful. Pool has spectacular views. And of course you can walk to the entrance of the Vardzia Cave complex in 10 minutes. I have stayed at a lot of places in my travelling life and am hard pressed to think of a more perfect place to stay. Bravo to the management and staff.

One thing that would improve it is more lighting options in the room and sometimes the showerdoor leaked.

This resort is like paradise on earth! The garden is so beautifull and the view from our balcony and the pool absolutely stunning. Our room and bed was very comfortable and everything needed was provided for example bath robes and unlimited towels for the pool. The whole place looks very well maintained and chique.

The food was average both at the breakfast hall and at the on-site restaturant which was a disappointment. Additionally the breakfast hall has too few tables and if the coach tour participants all come to eat, you are doomed to wait it out and the attending staff does not control the food supply well if the room gets too busy.

The resort is very nicely located on a hill side. It has a small infinity pool with the Vardzia Stone City view from afar and beautifuly kept garden with some historical remains. Rooms are spacious and well designed. Added plus for an on-site parking.
