Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSuper friendly host. A very unique place - our room was beautifully designed and very comfortable. The guesthouse has lots of cool areas to hang out. Slightly out of the centre, but on a 15 minute walk in and past lots of market stalls.

GermanyPersonally, I loved the place! It’s a bit rustic, but definitely more comfortable than a hostel (e.g. private rooms/bathrooms; comfy beds; towels), while still having community spaces to connect with people. I can only imagine that if you dislike running into other travellers, and prefer anonymous hotels with generic, sterile rooms, you might want to find something else.
Despite the rainy weather, we had a wonderful time in Batumi. The hosts went above and beyond to assist us with any questions we had. There were amazing plants and flowers; cats wander around, as well as the friendly host dog. There are cozy corners to discover—spots to sit and chill, play one of their musical instruments, or read a book,— and a large common area with an equipped kitchen. Lia has poured her soul into this space, transforming a simple piece of land into something truly magical over the years. I really want to visit again, ideally when it’s warm enough to use the pool!

GeorgiaWe dint like the fact that we could not stay for longer in the guest house cause we came for just 2 days. Its a superb guest house.
It was an amazing and a comfortable stay. The location of the guest house was just in walking distance from the major attraction sites. The owner and her family were just amazing. They made us feel like we were their own. It was our first time to batumi with a big group and this guest house is definitely the best in my opinion. It is those type of houses were you would love to come back in the night to enjoy with your family and friends after a tiering journey. The rooms were top and very comfortable. The best part was the family room. We will definitely come again to this place.

United KingdomThe location is not ideal for a short stay as it's about a 20-minute walk to the main area, but I would recommend it for longer stays. While our room was very clean, the small kitchen area wasn't clean or well-maintained.
Lia is a wonderful host - very kind and friendly and she speaks excellent English. She helped us with maps of the local area and made us tea and coffee and fruit in the morning. Staying with her feels like a homestay. The place is nice with a small pool area. The room was very big and clean.

EstoniaThere was a swimming pool, small snooker table, games and other fun activities for the kids. The room and whole guesthouse was clean. Kitchen and other common areas were really big (i appreciate that instead of using that space for building additional guest rooms they are for common use). There was a dog and kittens in the yard, kid's loved playing with them. The area was quiet, old town and beach were within walking distance. And of course - really nice and helpful owners.

NorwayI would appreciate a sign on the door that it is a guesthouse. The walk to the beaches takes at least 20 minutes.
The guesthouse is in a quiet residential area, about 15 minutes walk from the centre of Batumi. The house is idyllic, well kept and comfortable with a swimming pool, outdoor seating, bbq in the beautiful garden. The parking is on the street just on the front of the house. Guests can use the well equippet shared kitchen. The hostess is very caring, she made me feel very welcome, offering coffee, fruits, wine, all kinds of traditional food and giving advices around Batumi. She was very kind to drive me to bus station, I appreciate that very much. My room with private bathroom was large, beautifully and modern furnished, conditioned and super comfortable, everything was very clean. I got a good sleep. Great view to the pool area.

FinlandWhile in Batumi, we were in a difficult personal situation. Lia took care of us like a mother and did all she could to help us and make our stay as comfortable as possible. She’s the sweetest person, as is her husband, and the guesthouse itself is beautiful! (They have very cute little kittens, too.)
