Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

KenyaThe opening in the bathroom wall. You can hear a guest next door when using the washroom so I felt I really didn’t have privacy.
The location is in a quiet neighbourhood. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Emmanuel really went out of his way to help with whatever was needed. He gave me great tips on ride shares.

They went out of their way to assist from the arrival at the airport, linking me up with a driver and even assisting me during one of the days when I was stranded commuting to a conference. Sure, there may be other pricier and more luxurious hotels in the same area, but Charis is a small family owned business you will be promoting. I especially thank Emmanuel, he was very helpful and the food was very nice too.

United StatesThis is a space ran by a family. It was such a heart warming experience. Having my breakfast cooked by Amelia each morning was beautiful. She even cooked dinner for me one night. This space is a rare gem and will give you the quiet, clean, accommodating and restorative vibes you are looking for. It’s clean, has great WiFi and the host is very much at your service and dedicated to making you feel at home and cared for. I would highly recommend!

FranceIts was a little bit far from the historical center but ok. They managed to have a driver for us with with a really good price. He was nice and good driver, very helpfull too, like the rest of our stay.
We shared a wonderful time with the owner and it's collaborators. They were very helpful and welcoming peoples. If we come back to Accra, we will sure go there again. We loved our stay with those loving and caring peoples.

The breakfast was wonderful. I had an early flight so I missed having breakfast on my last day there. The location was just what I needed, a quiet and serene area was what I was looking for while looking for a place to stay.

United KingdomI do not think we could have found a better place to stay in Accra. Emilia, Eric, and all the team at Charis Home Services looked after us so well, making sure that we had everything that we needed so that we could go about our long, long days of work while we were in Ghana. They showed such care for us - from speaking with the taxi driver from the hotel who could not find the road and then coming out to meet us, home-cooked breakfasts with local porridge, eggs, and fresh fruit, advice about travelling, areas we should visit, gifts we should give, to making sure we were home safely each day. On our final day one of our interviewees asked us where we were staying, and we told her. She said "I've never heard of it. I hope that means it is one of the little home places, they are the absolute best places to stay in Accra. They are so much better than the big hotels". We couldn't agree more. We had such a lovely time in Accra, even though we were there on business and not for fun. We wholeheartedly recommend Charis Home Services.
