How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

the beds are SUPER hard. they need softer mattresses
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! Right down the street from famous bar Republic, from the best jerk spot in Osu called Island, & from the best chicken in Osu Honeysuckle. Not to mention brand new club levers just opened up right next door and gives straight Miami vibes in Ghana. Staff were AMAZING! the General manager was a great guy who helped me oh so generously and Sunday was a Doorman that really helped me and went above and beyond. all the staff were super respectful.

Horrible shower design so that when you use the shower it can fill the entire bathroom with water, which was annoying.
The location was good in Osu; nice size rooms, staff were helpful; wifi worked; hot water in the shower; several TV channels; provided breakfast; felt safe

The Aircon in my room was not powerful enough but I guess it was just a matter of quick maintenance.
Very Nice staff and very good location to stay in Accra centrale. The restaurant in the lobby was convenient as well.

You can explore a few more air freshener options, especially for the bathroom.
Very considerate, courteous, and patient staff. Well-lit and serene environment. Reliable Wi-Fi. Great water pressure, and spacious room. Felt safe there. Good location.

I specifically searched on Booking.com for a quiet place to stay on Thursday 4/4/24. GC Royal indicated that they have soundproof rooms. From around 10:30pm to at least 4am the club next door called Levels played music at a minimum of 100 decibels. I could not sleep even with ear plugs in my ears. Noise in residential zones in Ghana are supposed to be a maximum 48 decibels, whilst commercial areas are a maximum of 65 decibels form the hours of 10pm-6am. Whichever the hotel is zoned at, the Levels club next door was far exceeding either. Many people at the hotel complained. I did not sleep all night and I was preparing for a flight so that I would get home with minimal jet lag. Instead, I had the worst weekend returning home because I got no sleep. I don't sleep well on planes and wanted to stay up the whole flight. Rather I dozed in and out uncomfortably all flight. The hotel said they would take care of the noise but they did not, nor did they rectify my situation. I ended up leaving at 4am in the hopes that I could just fall asleep at the airport. So, I also missed their breakfast in an effort to get some sleep and avoid the noise. Most disconcerting is I asked what they were going to do for me because I did not sleep all night before paying. They just reiterated that other people had issues too and they couldn't control the club next door. I told them I was not happy paying full price but they just ignored me. So, I paid $120.00 for honestly zero minutes of sleep and no breakfast. So, here is the problem, they passed what should have been their problem on to me the consumer. I don't know what the situation is with their neighbors at Level or the police, but it certainly isn't up to me to solve the issue. There is no impetus for them to solve it. They will do this again because they are not showing their clients that it is their issue to solve.
The hotel is decently centralized in Accra. Part of the reason I chose it is because it is not far from the airport. The rooms have a modern interior. The staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful with everything but the noise at the hotel.

WORST HOTEL STAY EVER.
horrible stay. This is the worst hotel stay I have ever had. I couldn’t sleep for 3 days straight. There’s a bar called level which is literally next door, it plays SUPER LOUD MUSIC on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. I have not been able to take a rest for 3 days in a row. I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.
