How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The address was a bit confusing. I wish they put some notice on their gate/wall. I Was looking for the right building even though I was standing right infront of it. Input just NESTA BARRON in the GPS if you don't want to struggle with the location ☺

Nesta Barron's location needs to be improved. The number provided on booking.com is not accurate. You must also add the photo of the front of the house to complete the location identification.
The price is very affordable compared to the comfort provided. you have complete tranquility and security. All my requests for room maintenance are granted. I particularly appreciated the tranquility and security offered by Nesta B.

They had a cook that would come prepare breakfast for the house I ordered the first day and never ordered again because I was charged 70ghs for eggs coffee and juice it was terrible for context you can get much more and have it delivered to you for 70ghs I also didn't like constantly being locked out of the gate if I decided to go anywhere even if i called or texted ahead when I was going to be back
The host Ms Laura was accommodating, the place really was like home, I was not bothered outside of wanting to clean the room which they came only at my request because I wanted to be left alone Use of the drying line and they would warm up my leftovers in the microwave when asked They had 2 shower heads in the bathtub which came in handy because 1 would stop working sometimes

I absolutely loved my stay here! The apartment is in a pretty central location and on a tarred road so getting around was easy. The compound itself is spacious and pretty, the bed comfortable and the staff, especially Laura the property manager was incredibly friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend!

Probably they need more explanation on where it is located, like it is on the north of the city, this is what you can find here, to go to the center you need to think and plan this, etc. Had a hard time finding the place maybe a better sign or something.
Staff was the best very helpful with everything and not taking advantage from tourist as a lot of people in the city does. The room was big it had A/C nice facilities warm water. They even lent me a transformer tu plug my cellphone charger

Nothing. However I would say it would be great if there is a sign post with the hotel’s name displayed outside in front of the building for easy recognition since taxi drivers have a hard time knowing the location.

If I had to mention one thing it's that Nesta Barron is a bit far out in North Legon if you want to be in the city centre of Accra. For my purposes (being at Ghana University) it was perfect.
Laura and Kwame made me feel at home during my first visit to Ghana. The establishment was clean, well-maintained, safe and Kwame and Laura helped me with anything I needed. I felt at home and will definitely be back when I am back in Accra.
