Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing at all
I loved how superbly friendly and professional the hotel staff were … specially the restaurant staff. The meal in the evening was superb. At breakfast the lady greeting us was amazing, remembering every day that I wanted Earl grey tea. I think they made me want to visit again . Just amazing 🤩

United StatesBeach access gate opens pretty late in the morning and closes at 6:30 pm. Not a huge deal, you can go through the hotel and down the sidewalk to the beach.
Beautiful location, staff are very professional, hotel is gorgeous and charming. We were married on the small terrace here and stayed several days, it was perfect.

United KingdomRooms are very dated and not clean. The cost is definitely not reflected in the quality of the room.
The restaurant is great.

United KingdomThere is a lot l did not like about this hotel. The photos on the website completely deceives you. It was not a true reflection. The room that we paid for did not match the value. The balcony that was given was so tiny only 1 person can really enjoy the view at a time. The iron was broken, we had furniture that was broken in the room. The lamp base was all rusted and a complete safety hazard. Fridge door could not close properly. It was truly the worst room l stayed in. The room was dated and tiles in the bathroom broken and patched up. I still can’t believe it was rated four stars. I can’t believe we paid all that money for the worst room. The breakfast was not the best either. First off all it was expensive for what they offered, we decided to forego the breakfast and find somewhere else to eat in the morning. On the last day we opted for a continental buffet breakfast, l am the only vegetarian in the family- there was nothing me for except cheese, yogurt and bread for £11.50. I got a better veggie breakfast at Morrison’s for £6.00. The pool area is not something to look forward to after a long site seeing day, it dated, veranda falling apart, pool was not inviting at all. I was so disappointed- l don’t think l be back again. Saved and paid all this money for such a disappointment.
The location was great. The bus stop in front of the hotel was sufficient to get you around Gibraltar. The lounge area was nice and cool after a long sight seeing day. The food was not to bad for certain dishes.

United Kingdomroom was comparable to a holiday in or travel lodge. we stayed there as we went to a wedding in the old of part town but couldn't get a room and the bride had said how lovey caleta was when she visited 2 years before. it had dated a lot in this time and she was thankful she wasn't getting married there as were we. breakfast staff nice and bed turned down every day. it was ok but I wouldn't go back

SpainIt was all fine and the staff were great. My only comment, which staff agreed on, whoever designed the cereal bowls, cups and saucers should be beaten with a spirit level. 😊
The bus service was useful plus, my now wife, (we got married there, yesterday) likes to swim and the hotel couldn't be any closer to the sea. 😊

United KingdomProperty is badly in need of a refurbishment. Rooms are in reasonable condition but communal areas (pool, building exteriors) are closer to a 2 star than 4 star quality. Front desk called three times to chase on check out, twice before the actual check out time.
Pool and restaurant staff were friendly.

United KingdomVery old and dirty with mosquitoes in the room and flies on the table while having breakfast. No investment to modernize the hotel - noisy AC, manual lift, old and dirty chair...... The attitude of the staff at the reception is the worst I have seen. Total waste of money.
the view is okay but with noise from the beach and birds flying you may not be able to sleep.

United KingdomCould do with a few more sun beds at busy times
Perfect location for a quiet break, but with easy bus or taxi links into the main town. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful views wherever you are in the hotel and round the outside areas. This hotel was perfect for us as we had a suite with a sitting area and kitchen. We could choose to eat in or eat out. I’d stay here again in a heart beat.

United KingdomI didn’t find it a problem, but some might find the steps difficult. Personally I loved the naturalistic setting. Some people might prefer to be closer to shopping areas, but I loved the fact that it was a real break from that kind of activity, especially during COVID.
Comfortable quiet room with view of lower slopes of the rock. Afternoon sun on balcony. Transport from door. Easy regular bus service. Food appetising and well presented. Local Sandy beaches easy to reach and not crowded. Swimming pool at the hotel and sun loungers always free. Towels provided. I felt safe and secure at all times. This is without doubt, the best hotel in Gibraltar. A real class act!

United KingdomDinner our first night was extremely bland and food service was slow. Continental breakfast was pretty sad as well. Hotel room smelled very musty, air con barely worked and was noisy, and overall the room was worn down. Terrible bed/pillows. Woke up with the worst back pain I've had in years. Ended up checking out around noon on our second day and losing the money we spent on second night stay just to move to a better hotel with a better bed.
Great view of the Mediterranean, great proximity to Catalan Bay

They are all lovely as is food and service initially was good but as restaurant filled up they were really stretched.
