It is a small oasis close to Banjul and the beaches. The breakfast and the cleanliness of the apartment were outstanding. I can only praise the staff and the hospitality of this beautiful hotel. Highly recommended.

Incredibly welcoming staff that made me feel at home right away. Delicious and generous breakfast. Beautiful design and views of the local village, surrounded by greenery. Spacious rooms, hot showers, with delicious breakfasts and a cute bar. Cannot recommend staying here enough.

We had an amazing stay at Rooftop for our honeymoon!!. Urban was so accommodating and attentive throughout even when he was away during our visit. All the staff where kind, approachable and accommodating; special thanks to Michy for decorating our room and providing delicious snacks and drinks for our arrival and to Fatou, Yassin and Abdou for taking such good care of us, we had such an amazing time. The room was nice and clean, you felt like you had the whole hotel to yourself as there is good privacy between the suites. You are not far with a short drive to the beaches or the main tourist strip wiithin senegambia and there is a cornershop for small essentials just walking distance too. I would highly recommend you stay here!

Just minor things, warm water in the shower was hardly existent, WiFi rather flakey, toilet flush had hardly pressure. But nothing to really complain about.

Absolute wow factor. One of the most unique hotels I've ever stayed in. We also received an upgrade to the biggest suite which was great. Breakfast is generous and not at all expensive as some say. How can some people really say 10 Euros are overpriced for such a great meal? It was awesome.

I really liked the hotels quirky but modern Swedish decor. The staff especially(Abdu and Fatu) were on hand, which made us feel extremely secure at all times. The owner Urban was very hospitable and friendly, we enjoyed our Morning catchups in his Gambian lifestyle.

The rooftop was already a "10" during my last stay here. Surprisingly, Michy and Fatou have taken the hotel to an even higher level. Booking should consider upgrading its maximum review rating to at least "15" to truly reflect the excellence of this remarkable hotel.

* Everything costs extra it felt - the breakfast was €10, turning on AC was €10 a night (which should be stated beforehand) * The location isn’t great. It’s near absolutely nothing and requires a 20 min walk in dust storms to get anywhere * AC wasn’t very strong

There is not much within close walking distance. During the day, it was fine to walk but there were persistent hasslers and slightly aggressive individuals trying to engage me in conversation or sell me things while I was walking down the roads near the hotel. I would not have felt comfortable walking more than a few blocks after dark.

This was a wonderful place to stay for a few nights. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, and the property is gorgeous. Everything is well laid-out and designed with a ton of greenery everywhere. There are numerous places in the public areas to sit or lounge in the in the shade, and coffee and other beverages are available at the bar. I met a number of other interesting travelers (the place is small, so you will run into the same people a lot). There is one decent restaurant within walking distance, many more a short taxi ride away. The owner, Urban, can help arrange transportation from the airport as well as for sightseeing.

The host is great and really listens an helps wherever he can, offering advice on which tours to do or not, and how to get Dalasi for a slightly better exchange. He also has a great sense of humour 😄 The Rooftop itself is an oasis, great to use as an office for a few weeks, or to relax in the evening. The lights in the evening make it a magical experience to sit and relax or chat with other guests. We have had such a lovely stay here, really recommend anyone to go here as well.

€10 for breakfast is steep. Not the hotel fault but the surrounding road was full of sand.

Great facilities. It looks amazing. It's comfortable. Room is cozy and anti bug. Excellent staff. Good location, considering it wasn't on the beach so didn't go far to the strip. A lot of things were great. Would recommend for anyone who doesn't want to stay in resort and wants privacy.

The many beautiful plants and trees in the roof terraces create a lush and relaxing space. Lots of areas to relax and chat with other guests and quiet places to relax. Staff are very welcoming and friendly.

This has got to be the most beautiful hotel in the Gambia. It’s obvious that the owner put a lot of thought into the design, and the result is an inviting and stylish space that feels like a true oasis away from the hustle and bustle. Though I was travelling alone, I imagine the hotel would be a great choice for a couples‘ getaway as well.

A magical hotel with an incredibly welcoming, warm and helpful team. Picked up from the airport all went smoothly despite the long delay to our flight. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the rooms are fitted out to a vey high standard. The breakfast is delicious and will keep you going the whole day! It is easy to get to the beach which is a 15 minute walk away. Close to attractions such as the monkey park and Tanji (including fish market) and easy to get to Banjul and Serekunda. A wonderful, relaxing stay.

The only cloud in the silver lining-the bed matress was VERY soft. This is certainly a question of personal preference, but for us it felt very uncomfortable.

Amazing hotel in a excellent location (close to Senegambia strip, but separated from the touristy madness). The owner himself designed everything, from concrete to curtains, and takes special care of the guests personally (he even upgraded our room because of some mixup with the airport taxi). The style and design of the room and the whole hotel transported us back in time, however the facilities (kitchen, bathroom) were very modern and up-to-date. All the staff were very kind and helpful. 100% recommended!

It could not have been more perfect.

A stunningly beautiful and tranquil oasis in the middle of a Gambian neighbourhood. One of the few places where the amazing reality is actually better than the amazing photos. The owner and staff were so heart-warming and welcoming and attentive to all needs. Close enough to great beaches, parks and restaurants, but far enough from tourist crowds and the traveler bubble. The opportunity to meet interesting people at the community breakfast table for fun conversations and great tips.

I liked the peace and quiet the ambience of the Raffles Singapore room it was lovely. This really was a home from home hotel with all the amenities. Urban, Fatou and staff are very lovely and really give you their full attention which makes the stay extra special Thank you l will return 😊
