We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

GermanyUnfortunately the stuff that didn’t meet spec. had to do with how the finances of the hotel is managed. The price per night is ok, but everything is really setup as add-ons. I feel the owner / manager is trying to pull one over the guests. They only accept cash or money transfer and there is no receipt to prove your stay. In addition to the 90€ nightly fee, you’re charged 10€ if you want the AC remote (some ways understandable since electricity is expensive, but you’re not told earlier). Breakfast is 10€, but really shouldn’t cost that much for an omelette and instant coffee, hotel transfer is 30€, a local service does it for 13€ max. They organize tours (I did the canoe tour for 45€, but the tour operator is only paid a portion of it, the hotel keeps the rest) but charge a substantial mark-up.
The hotel was super comfortable, very clean, had really friendly staff, who were very helpful. I enjoyed how the rooms felt secluded and yet we ran into each other for a fairly intimate experience.

United Kingdoma lovely little oasis just outside of Senegambia - an easy walk to the beach and the strip but away from the hustle and bustle. The staff are super lovely, it’s very clean, and the breakfast is nice.

United KingdomAir conditioning is not included as standard, no formal ‘check-in’ process to discuss the property and what is available on request or what is charged separately.
Good location if you are keen to stay away from resorts and the main ‘strip’. Senegambia is close by and easy to get to. The wifi was pretty stable and consistent. You can also get a feel of local life in Kerr Seringe

This stay was during our wedding anniversary, it was perfect. We love the style, the furniture, plants and ambience. The staff were brilliant and the owner Urban had time and was very attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will be definitely going back in the future. I would recommend this accommodation and experience to anybody. From Carl and Mya.

United Kingdomthe layout is fantastic, it’s beautifully designed, perfect for the weather and very secure. the owner (Urban) is a fantastic host (and good company) and the other staff are bright and friendly. The Gambia is a welcoming place and this place is a real gem. Excellent internet and a real boutique feel. I’d stay again in a heartbeat.

United StatesWe loved the atmosphere - a rooftop oasis in the busy Senegambia area! It was peaceful, tasteful, and completely enjoyable. Beautiful plants and design made a serene, romantic escape on top of the building. Our rooms were designed with excellent taste and consideration. We enjoyed wine at the bar, fascinating conversations, and stunning West Africa sunsets every evening. We loved it so much we came back a second time later in our trip!

United Arab EmiratesIn my line of work (airhostess) have I stayed at dozen hotels around the world and coming back home to my beloved Gambia and find an exceptional place like the Rooftop is a big surprise. This place talks class, something I really appreciate from a hotel. Had a small snag when I wanted to pay with a credit card but the staff sorted that out.
