I loved everything.

I would have rated it 11 if possible. I think it's the best place I've stayed - ever. Fantastic views, a unique location with an impressive history, and above all super friendly management and staff. The Grand Chalet restaurant down the road and under the same management, is a great place for breakfast and supper. I only stayed one night and wish I could have spent longer there.

Food is served at the Grand Chalet down the hill so if you're walking to the guesthouse you might want to call in at the Chalet first, which is what we did and the daughter kindly ran us up to the guesthouse after the meal in her car.

The views are delightful. It's been newy fitted out to a very high standard. Fridge in room in the wardrobe so it's not so noisy. A nice touch. Very handy for visiting the monastery which was well worth it.

The location is breathtaking! Right next to the Mega Spilaio and built on top of a rock with stunning views. The building is beautiful and the host was super friendly, knowledgeable about the history of the property and the region and gave us great tips for the region. A must stay!

Enhancing the bathroom for increased comfort and spaciousness would be ideal. Additionally, it would be wonderful to have fruits and/or nuts included in the breakfast offerings.

The captivating view and location of the house left us enchanted; approaching the home while driving felt like stepping into a fairytale.

None everything was perfect

Perfect location and the staff were extremely friendly. They were polite and let us know everything about Kalavrita. They satisfied us with every need and they had everything you needed in a hotel room. Very,very clean and it had a mesmerizing view on the cliff.

There was nothing to dislike. The Guest house has only recently opened and only 6 rooms are in use. We were possibly the only guests on our one night stay.

The location is truly spectacular. It is an old historic building and the owner gave us a very interesting brief history when we arrived. The excellent breakfast was served at the Grand Chalet located across the road, at the bottom of the drive. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends.

The location was superb, perched high up in the mountains and with an amazing view across the valley. The staff at the Guesthouse and in the nearby restaurant were extremely friendly and helpful. Our visit to the Holocaust Museum in Kalavryta was exceptionally moving and the train trip to Diakopto was interesting and fun

It was a gorgeous historic property - an eagles nest overlooking the vouraikos gorge about 8 kms from the town of Kalavryta. Quiet with stunning views and a short walk to the Mega Speilia monastery and the family restaurant for breakfast and dinner.

Other than a minor glitch with a tub fixture that wouldn't switch over to "shower" mode, can't think of a single thing I'd change.

The site is stunning and secluded high on a mountainside outside Kalavryta, as befits a former guesthouse for Eastern Orthodox monks. The Grand Chalet right below Mega Spielios is part of the 1909 "family" and we had an amazing dinner and a lovely breakfast after our overnight. Everyone we encountered from Roula to Zoe was delightful and very solicitous of my travelling companion, who has a few mobility issues. The rooms are HUGE with balconies to gaze out upon the countryside (and in our case, the moon rise!) and all sorts of little niceties abound from a fully stocked hallway frig full of water to the complimentary wine in our rooms

Rooms are hot during summer, fly screens would be great to leave windows open during nights. Breakfast could be earlier available during summer for hikers.

The bathroom has this weird very small tub with a step inside, no curtain and nowhere to hold onto. We actually felt unsafe going in and out, as it was easy to slip and fall. The entire thing needs changing but at the very least put a curtain up!
