How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Great location for exploring the town. Easy walking distance to the sea front and restaurants. Allocated parking space in front of the lofts- perfect if you’ve got a car as parking is challenging in Alexandroupoli. Helpful staff.

Met my expectations
great location. The place is closer to the restaurants and beginning of the main street. Rooms are lovely. Balcony is useful. Breakfast is amazing.

I don’t like when the hotel writes free parking and then i have to park couple hundred meters away ( because in front they have 4 spots all other them was taken ) from the hotel i notice that many of them make this in my opinion mistake . But it was fine
good location , friendly staff , the breakfast was very delicious, and i liked the system where they divide the guests into 3 groups so you dont have to fight with other guests for food.

The lobby was tiny. Some parts of the curtains in the bedroom had come off the rails.. There was too much traffic noise.
The breakfast was varied and plentiful.

We stayed at the two-bedroom suite. These rooms are in a separate building than the main one. I didn't see this information when I was booking; it would be better if it was clearly stated. But the room is in just a minute walking distance to the main building. If you feel insecure when staying in a stand alone building then you should better choose other rooms.
The staff is very polite and helpful. The facilities are new. The location is excellent as it is close to many shops and quality restaurants. The breakfast is very good; not too rich but enough. We really appreciated the cleanliness of the room. Free parking is also another plus.

I loved everything about the hotel, we have easily checked in, the price was good, the breakfast was really good, we have found plenty of delicous food.. The beds and pillows were really so comfortable, we loved it. The only thing was the room was a bit small but it was ok. The hotel and the room was really so clean. The parking was easy and free, the hotel is close to the city center, you can easily walk everywhere.

Nice breakfast but it was divided in 3 groups with different hours. Can be challenging if you give a time but not able to meet it.
It’s a new facility, very clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast. Bed was super comfortable. Room with balcony, where you can smoke. Location is around 10mins walk to light house. But Alexandroupoli is a small city, it was easy to reach everything by walk.
