How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Absolutely nothing
Breakfast was very varied and fantastic, something for everyone. Location is absolutely brilliant, walking distance to the old town, restaurants, shops and so on. We were very happy to have chosen Acandia Hotel, really exceptional place and staff.

The pool was OK, however, only gets sun from about 1130am til 4pm. There are beaches nearby however they are quite stoney
Breakfast buffet was incredible, delicious food served each day

Everything was perfect here! Great delicious buffet, staff super happy and smiling helpful, very clean and every day, short walk to casino, marina, old town and a lot of history when you just wander around. If you don’t mind a little traffic noise which was only minimal you’ll love it here but, if you want absolute quiet then stay off the roads and find something remote. We loved it and would definitely recommend and come back again.

The pool area is quite small and frequently in shade. OK for me but not ideal if you want a sunny pool. Air conditioning was at a minimum of 24oC. That made the nights hot but might be a legal restriction? Its a few minutes from the beach so the balcony views are more urban.
Nice clean hotel, everything worked and minor problems were sorted quickly. Breakfast was buffet and very extensive.

A fabulous hotel - very spacious and comfortable rooms with modern bathrooms. The staff are excellent, and the barman is very entertaining! Breakfast had everything you could want. Really recommend this hotel.

The pool area was maybe quite small. Its between two buildings with no view but hotel walls.
Hotel is new/newly renovated. It's clean, modern and very nice looking. Room was spacious and bed was excellent. Breakfast is excellent with large various of items. Our room was always clean and tidy, thanks to professional cleaning lady. Staff in reception was positive and very helpfull. Highly recommended place to stay :)

I thought the breakfast somewhat poor. As a vegan, there was very little apart from some plant milks and bread with a little salad.
This hotel was in a great location, close to the old town and with restaurants, bars, coffee shops all in the vicinity. The receptionists were lovely (especially Yoanna) and super helpful. We extended our stay and they made it easy to keep our rooms.

-due to renovations there were electrical problems, in specific several wall outlets were nonoperational and we had to try them one by one in order to find a working one. Also some lights (e.g. the red reading lights) were not working. - Also for the same reason we were issued physical keys instead of key-cards

It wasn't a problem for me as a solo traveller and I was only staying for a few days, but a few more hangers would be useful
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I especially enjoyed the buffet breakfast. The room was a good size, well laid out. Plenty of power points for all my tech. I loved the walk in shower in the bathroom.

The welcome I received by Manolis, at 12:30 at night, was extremely welcoming and helpful. A lovely introduction to all the friendly staff at the hotel. The room is well laid out and comfortable. I will be staying here again.
