Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandVery little to dislike about property Could improve their breakfast offering, bit pricey for what is offered. We would prefer more fruit . One could always go room only. 2 supermarkets beside apartments.

SlovakiaThe worst thing was the noise. I had a room overlooking an area where there was a loud party going on till late. I couldnt sleep, which made the whole experience of otherwise probably good acommodation bad. The room was old and not very welcoming.
Breakfast was rich, local and tasty, gym was very good and staff was friendly. Close to a beach. The welcome drink and fruit was a nice touch.

RomaniaIt has an impersonal feeling for a Greek accommodation, there was no feeling that they cater for the individual needs of their guests. For example, when asking about arranging a taxi to get from the harbour to the accommodation, we were offered some vague indication about the fact that there are usually taxies there. We actually ended up walking all the way to the property (30 mins with luggage). There were some noisy guests at the pool who disrupted the atmosphere.
The property has a nice pool and a cool bar, which gives a holiday vibe to the place. It is a bit far from the main touristic area, but very close to Lambi Beach. They allowed us an extra half an hour in the room at check-out, upon request and gave us some treats.

IrelandNothing to dislike!!!!!
Loved everything about Aegean Houses! Our room was spotless & spacious. The swimming pool was cleaned every evening. There was a great summer holiday vibe there, a great buzz but not too packed. We were greeted on arrival in the most welcoming way, with lots of information provided. Staff were exceptional and so friendly. The food in the restaurant was brilliant and very reasonably priced. The chef needs a special call-out as she really is brilliant!! The waiter who looked after us each day was so helpful and jolly, and all of these elements really helped make our stay so enjoyable. Its about 15 minute walk to the centre of town, on a straight road with shops and cafes along the way. For us that location was great!! You will not regret staying in Aegean Houses!!!

Great welcome from all the staff, especially Kiros behind the bar who can mix anything! Our room had insect nets fitted on both balcony doors. Very good hot shower. Mini supermarket next door. Bike hire opposite. Plenty of pool chairs and umbrellas. All areas kept spotless. Excellent buffet breakfast. Our booking.com taxi let us down at the last minute but the receptionist booked a taxi which came immediately. They printed off our check in forms for the return journey. WiFi good.

AustriaEverything was perfect, I have nothing to criticize.
Our stay at Aegean Houses was perfect. The hotel is located really close to the beach (approx. 5min walk, maybe 10min if you're a slow walker). From the hotel, you can reach the centre of Kos after a 15 to 20min walk, or you can rent bikes if you want to get there faster. Next to the hotel is a small shop where you can buy food etc. if you need to. There are various restaurants and bars within walking distance, which is also really nice. But the restaurant and the bar within the hotel are amazing as well! We let our host recommend us a dish, and it was very good - and also not pricey at all! The bar also serves really nice drinks. For breakfast, we could choose from a big variety of food and beverages, which was amazing as well. Otherwise, everything was perfect. The pool is very clean, and it's cool that there's also a jacuzzi! The staff were very friendly as well. After we had difficulties with organizing a shuttle from and to the airport, I messaged the hotel and they organized everything for us. We would definitely recommend staying at Aegean Houses!
