How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.

Misunderstanding at to boat arrival time which left us on the quay for 20 minutes trying to call someone. Unfortunate but also unnecessary. Otherwise nothing.
Nice welcome treats . Would suggest that white wine is left in the fridge though as meant with only 2 nights we only drank part of it as not chilled on arrival which would have been perfect. Well equipped and some useful notes. Comfortable bed. Very good communication with owners in advance.

The location was excellent. The apartment was lovely and clean with all the usual amenities. Great views from the balcony. We even got a bottle of wine as part of the welcome pack even though we were only staying 3 nights. If we ever visit Halki again, we will definitely look to book this property.

We loved our stay in this villa. Its perfectly located on the seafront, with unobstructed views of the harbour. Very comfortable and well equipped, we felt extremely comfortable. Exactly as the photos show. The host Christina was very communicative and most helpful. I can definitely recommend this villa and would stay there again! 👍

Amazing views from the room and balcony, very comfortable bed, really clean, great shower. We loved watching the comings and goings of ferries, yachts and fishing boats. It was lovely to be met on arrival from the ferry and to receive thoughtful welcome gifts. The studio was spacious and well furnished and linens were changed every 3-4 days. The host was a pleasure to deal with and responded quickly to our queries/requests. We really appreciated our early check-in and late check out..

Great location. Halki is beautiful so wherever you stay is going to be great. But the owners communicated well with all our enquiries and the accommodation was cleaned every 2 days with fresh towels, sheets and beach towels. We go to Halki pretty well every year and have always had great accommodation but this will be our first choice when we go again. Best wishes to the owners for providing a great experience!

Slightly noisy at night because of its central location but that was because we prefer to have the windows open rather than using the air conditioning.
Very comfortable property with excellent facilities. A beautiful view over the harbour. Very helpful and accommodating hosts.

very comfortable, well located with a great view of the harbour. A very well equipped apartment with everything you could need and vert accommodating staff. we were met at the ferry and were allowed a late check out to suit our ferry departure time which was much appreciated.

Nothing to dislike
First class and well thought out accommodation. All quality fixtures and fittings and appliances, extremely comfortable and we will look to stay there again. The location is 50 m from the port, surrounded by all the restaurants and small bars.

We loved our apartment! From the very first moment we arrived we knew we’d made an excellent decision. Gorgeous, clean apartment in a beautiful location with breathtaking views. The staff was super helpful, friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!

Some noise from restaurants but nothing to much so didn’t detract from location.
Great location overlooking the little harbour. Nice balcony to watch the boats come and go. Easy walk to two beaches. Very nice and laid back. Very good WiFi. Bakery 50mts away, fresh bread for breakfast. Local bars and restaurants very welcoming.

One very minor thing was when we arrived the air conditioning had not already been switched on. Having it on a short time before arrival would make the apartment even more welcoming than it already was.
Property was exactly as advertised. Beautiful sea view , very modern and spacious. Proportions exactly as photographed. Air conditioning at right level. Staff were so helpful, thank you to Christina and team.

orientation to east means you can not stay in the balcony after 8:30 and not even in the room without closed windows and a/c - cleaner did not come in one of the two times promised
