Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSlightly inconvenient that there wasn’t any public transport but this was known before going and certainly not a fault of the property/hosts!
Quiet, peaceful location, with friendly, helpful and welcoming hosts, a comfortable room and amazing breakfasts!!

SwitzerlandThere was no possibility to spend some time in the garden/bar/lobby in the early evening to grab an aperitif - luckly we had our splendid balcony but would have appreciated also to come in contact with other guests for a small chat.
Perfect view, very nice owner, spent wonderful days with a great breakfast there.

AustraliaMaira and her staff were AMAZING hosts, we didn’t want to leave we just felt like family. Breakfasts were incredible, stocked with items prepared by Maira and also small local producers (amazing Greek yoghurt, honey, cheeses and sweet treats!). Each day we would receive a different filo pie to take for lunch, extremely thoughtful. The rooms were very clean, quiet and well appointed. The views from the balcony over the ocean were such a great treat in the morning and evening. I want to go back! Very well located near Fiskardo town and also local tavernas and restaurants.

United StatesWiFi code wasn't available in the room, however this proved not to be an issue since the mobile roaming signal was strong.
Breakfast was varied, plentiful with quality ingredients. The Breakfast room was comfortable and welcoming, with very personable service. Our room was furnished to a high standard. The owner is 'heart-invested' in the work, and it shows.

United StatesWe would have liked to have a few luggage stands to put our suitcases on...there was a table and desk we used instead...also, we should note that a car is necessary to stay here, but worth it to be able to explore all over the island.
The breakfast was delicious and complete with anything you might want, including a hand-made pie, either savory or sweet, that was given to us each day. Delicious yogurt with all the fixings, including raisins, almonds and other toppings, cooked to order eggs or omelets, fresh-brewed coffee, cheese and meats, hand baked bread to toast, plus fruits, honey and jams. Maira goes to much work to provide a cut-above breakfast experience for her guests! We also loved the quiet, the cleanliness and the great hospitality of our host. The room had all the amenities you could want, including a small kitchenette and refrigerator, with ample utensils and supplies. Even though we had cool weather, it was a pleasure to hang out in the room or sit out on the balcony. soaking in the phenomenal views of the forests and the sea below us. Maira has created a first-class place to come...more than just a B+B!

Italy- Flickering buzzing fridge - Outdoor stairs become very slippery when it rains and the metal doormat does not help either, having something more stable would be better
- Lovely suite with styled furnishing - Clean and tidy - AC available, but we never really needed it as nights during our stay were pleasantly cool - Balcony overlooking Ithaca and olive trees - Peaceful neighbourhood - B&B is a 10-minute drive from Fiskardo - Scrumptious treats left by Maira (the owner) every day (see pics) - Dedicated parking area on the other downhill road opposite to the B&B

United KingdomThe closest store is about a 10/15 minute drive which meant having to remember to buy things when out in the main town [Fiskardo is the closest]
The owner Maira was an incredible warm and hospitable host, we couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming person. She went out of her way to make different traditional pies everyday that was a very thoughtful gesture and one of the highlights of our stay! The room was well equipped and the view overlooking Foki beach was breathtaking - we will definitely be back!

South AfricaThe aparments are located on the northern side of the island which is very quiet. There are local supermarkets, some amazing beaches and a few good restaurants in driving distance. The apartments are very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. The best part is the breakfast - Maira appears to take great pride in the food served, and every morning there is a unique authentic Greek "surprise" added to the breakfast. The view from the apartments is absolutely stunning.

RomaniaThere are no mosquito nets at the windows. Location is in a small village with a lot of vegetation so as well a lot of insects. Is a pitty that you can’t stay with the windows open during the night. Mosquito nets will make the stay much more comfortable and convenient, because you will not need to stay with the AC turned ON. So incresed comfort and smaller bill for electricity.
Great location with wonderful view from the balcony. Delicious breakfast and home-made pies that the guest made everyday. I loved the decorations and furniture.

The breakfast was worth flying to Kephalonia for. Quite exceptional with locally sourced delicacies. After breakfast each day we were offered slices of a tasty home made pie different every morning so there was no need to buy any lunch! The quiet location in the middle of an old village with view out over a massive cedar forest was just what we needed.
