There was music at the pool all day long. In may mosquitos are a problem...

The place is very beautiful, everything is absolutely tasteful, our apartment was brandnew, very stylish and beautiful, spacious and had a large terrace with beautiful furniture, surrounded by palm trees... The amazingly nice, wonderful receptionist Elisabeth is the loveliest person I have ever met at a hotel, she was extremely friendly, so helpful, pleasant and speaks fantastic German. The beach is beautiful, the views are pretty, the location of the hotel is surprisingly quiet.

Very nice location, everything was wonderful!! The beach just 10 meters from hotel marvelous view with mountains and other restaurants just 10 minutes walk! Rooms were very clean staff very kind and friendly!! Even if there is no breakfast they have bar and kitchen just outside, you don't even have to go somewhere else. Everything was so perfect. No more words. Definitely coming back here soon!

We came across this place by accident. Stayed here for 7 days but would have stayed longer if we could. The hotel has been owned by the same owner for 30 years and has taken great care of it with recent modern renovations. It has a great pool with loungers and chairs, a pool bar/restaurant with lively hotel staff OPA!!! 😆 the hotel is on a great beach with loungers and umbrellas. The water is crystal clear, sandy and shallow for quite a long ways. The hotel is surrounded by many restaurants and shops. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. Oh I want to go baaaack! Book it! You won’t be disappointed!

Wifi can be improved, but I think is a general issue with communication services in this area, 4G is very poor all around.

I have been in many places around Europe, but this place is unique. There is a complex mix between quality services, nice people, excellent beach and sea water (warm and clean) and a wonderful team who managing everything. You will not miss Lula, an amazing person, who is all long day everywhere and she can help you with everything. The cleaning is perfect, each day I had the feeling that I check in again, the room is prepared as it was in first day. High recommended for a family perfect vacation.

I would have preferred a sitting area instead of pullout couches.

The property is perfectly situated, on the beach, close to restaurants and bars but tucked away. The staff make you feel instantly comfortable and welcome. I understand why the reviews are strong, people return year after year because of the warmth of the staff.

Staff was amazing. All of them, from the bar to the reception Also the location was really nice. Not too far from bar street. And also not too far from Hersonissos. Very nice beach as well! Perfect for swimming. Also the cleaning services were perfect. Clean room and dishes every day!

They really have to put some shelves or holders for the soap and shower gel , as well a towell rack in the bathroom; which is by the way separated from the sink.They should also have some do not disturb sign cause you never know when housekeeping comes, but you can request at reception for a specific time to be attended.

The location was excellent, quick access from the room to the pool and then the beach. Also, quite close to restaurants and super markets. Has a big enough fridge and comfortable linen. Is worthy to book a seaview apartment, even for 2 only.The beach is awsome, sandy, clean, water level is like really low for 50 meters, kids can play without worries. Bar by the pool super ok with the staff really funny, Lula, Iorgos, Dimitri, Maria… and Elisabeth on reception is so helpful. Prices are decent. Beach towels available in the room, and you get housekeeping daily. The electricity in the room is available when you tap a magnetic induction key holder. When you are out of the room, it switches off. But the AC is excellent, can cool down in minutes. The location is away enough from the crowded area so you can enjoy quiet moments.They can arrange transportation, a wonderfil driver named Emanuel( Manolis), who will drive a nice Mercedes van very comfy and fast.

The apartment was great, extremely comfortable and the views from the two balconies were lovely. The staff were fun, very helpful and Lula (the owner) gave us great advice regarding a restaurant in Malia Old Town and fabulous tips for our onward destination in Chania. The pool was superb and we also enjoyed swimming in the sea right in front of the hotel.

Our stay here was lovely. The location is right on the beach but also has a very nice pool with sunbeds and a children pool which was very much appreciated by our daughter. Our rooms were right at the pool which made all very convenient but it the same time was quiet, no noise from the pool. The bar serves food and drinks and the owner and the staff were lovely. Thank you so much for such an incredible stay. I do highly recommend this property.

Nothing so far. 1 AC was enough for 2 rooms but it would be better if there was 2 separate ACs for both rooms.

Hotel was few steps away from the amazing beach. Lovely staff serving in the pool bar. They can charge you to your room account. Prices are fair. You can also use the sun beds in pool deck for the beach. Sun beds in the beach is €6-8 but you won't need that. Rooms were clean enough with 2 large balcony.

Super nice hotel owner and crew. The location is directly at a beatiful sand beach and close to the village with stores and restaurants. The tavern close by is also just amazing (Sofra).

The advertisement for an apartment for 4 shows there being two bedrooms and a separate kitchen however 2 of us had the sofa that was turned into two single beds. It was still very comfortable but just not what we expected.

It was modern and had a great balcony - we got the side sea view balcony and it didn’t disappoint. The apartment was also cleaned every day so was very clean.

Nothing not to like.

Everything was beyond our expectations. The hotel staff and the manager, Ms. Lula, who is present daily at the location, are very kind and friendly. They made us feel at home. Every day at the pool bar, they celebrate like it's a party ongoing. The rooms are exactly like in the pictures: very clean; the towels and bed sheets are changed daily; clean bathroom. In the garden, you can hide from the sun and relax in beds under the beautiful palm trees. The water in the pools is filtered with oxygen, which is not harmful for you. The wi-fi had a surprisingly good signal everywhere, even at the beach sunbeds. The sandy beach is not crowdy, we could find sunbeds at any hour (front row), and the water is not deep at the shore, so it is suitable for little children too. The hotel is situated in a quiet area of Malia, just 30 minutes from the Heraklion airport. Traditional tavernas are very close to the property, with fresh seafood and fish. Also close to supermarkets, where you can find a great variety of products from food to cosmetics. The bus station, 1 km away, with buses every 30 minutes, can take you to the Crete Aquarium or Dinosauria Park, great locations for kids in the nearby town of Gouves. You don't need to rent a car. Also, the property is close to the Cretan Medicare Malia (hospital) in case of need. There is a waterpark with slides just behind the property.

You can’t really open the windows because it gets full of mosquitoes that will not let you sleep at night. It was decreasing our fun. some window nets would have been useful.

This place exceeded my expectations. I came with my 2 children for a mini break and couls t be happier with the experience we had here. I originally wasn't keen to go to Malia but now I've stayed here I would definitely go back. It was lovely and relaxing place to stay, very clean and the staff were amazing. I highly recommend Akrogiali.
