Nothing in particular. Kitchen equipment could be somewhat more abundant and consistent but you'll find most of what you need.

Sea view, 50m to the beach, amazing hosts, comfortable apartment. Going to Kalyves since 36 years and would always take this accommodation again. Thanks for everything!

Really close to the beach, great location. Very cozy small apartments, well planned, you can find everything you need for the short stay. Cute balcony/terrace in front of the room entrance, unfortunately with no view :)

The hotel is little bit old but considering the price it was ok at all.

Very close to the beach and many tavernas around. The owner is very kind, friendly and helpful. The town Kalives has everything what you need like backery, market, beach cafes etc.

Apartment - again, perhaps the beds could go with a mattress upgrade? Also, shower curtain rail was lopsided, so the shower curtain didn't reach the floor all around (minor problem, though, easily solved and didn't have any impact on my stay and ability to use the shower).

Apartment - bigger than the apartment of my first night here, even a side sea view from the ground floor terrace/balcony. Shower curtain in the bathroom in this apartment. All of the usual self catering facilities provided. Location - again, very close to the beach and all of its facilities in the centre of the beachfront part of the village. Host - Pantelis was as obliging and gracious as his wife Ioanna (I didn't arrive until nearly 20:30 this time). I was allowed to use the apartment past the official check-out time when my taxi arrived, and had time for a lovely conversation with Pantelis when I checked out.

Location - literally just around the corner from the beautiful gently sloping sandy beach and all seafront restaurants and bars. Host - Ioanna was lovely, gracious and very accommodating - I didn't arrive until nearly 22:00, and Ioanna offered for a member of her family to pick me up from the bus stop near the village on the main road to Chania. Apartment - a little basic, but ok for my very short stay. All the usual self catering facilities provided.

My room had a balcony but no access to a view or any sun as it was located on the ground floor and faced a wall. If you wish to sit in the sun (and again, you can use the sunbeds right on the beach 1 minute from you for free if you buy a drink or food from the taverna) it may be best to clarify that before booking. If you want a base right on the beach and want the sound of the waves to be your lullaby, this is a good choice.

This property is in a great spot right on the beach and very close to shops and tavernas. The host was very pleasant, friendly and helpful, and the room was well equipped with a basic kitchen and kitchen tools to make simple meals - I did not do this as there is an excellent taverna about 10 metres from my door!

The owners were great and the communication excellent before the trip started. I got answers to my questions and felt very welcomed. A personal touch. The hotel was so close to the beach and close to everything. Easy destination travelling with kids.
