Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

DenmarkWe can wholeheartedly endorse the Almyrida Sands Luxury Stone Villa. It ranks among the finest accommodations we've ever experienced. Yannis warmly greeted us upon our arrival and, on three separate occasions during our stay, delivered fresh bread, jam, and olive oil. The pool and the surroundings were cleaned and kept fresh, all in a very discrete manner. The level of cleanliness and freshness was consistently top-notch.

TurkeyThe villa was beautiful, clean and very comfortable. Owner of the house welcomed us very warmly. He brought fresh bread and homemade jam for the breakfast. The area is very quiet and peaceful. The location is also ideal, if you prefer to spend time more on the western side of the island. All in all, a totally worthy stay for the money we spent. Highly recommended :))

Everything was wonderful. Very atmospheric, exceptionally clean and comfortable. Lovely outdoor spaces to relax in. Decor great. Lovely location in the middle of the villiage. Local mini market had everything you need. Loved the local taverna. Jannis also left a wonderful feast of wine, fruit, bread, olive oil, jams... It is a very special villa - great to relax in.

The pictures do not promise too much. The stone villa is a really charming accommodation. We were excited. The house has been lovingly restored and equipped completly. We were allowed as a family with 2 children 19 days to spend there and have felt very comfortable. The rooms are very individually designed, the beds very comfortable. The air conditioning helped us well in the hot days. The nice outside area invites you to linger. The pool, which is ideal for refreshment, was cleaned every two days by Yannis. We gladly made use of the grill. Within walking distance there is everything for everyday needs in a Mini market. However, a car is essential. It is a nice quiet privat place from there you can reach many destinations in crete. Almyrida with nice restaurantes directly at the sea can be reached by car in 10 minutes. Our sincere thanks go to Yannis and Cecile for the very warm care during our time. Thank you for your fantastic homemade orange jam and the olive oil. We are missing your bread in the morning, your helpful recommendations and the cheerful conversations Yannis! The time in the stone villa will remain in very good memory. We could let ourselves drift and were wonderfully decelerated. Many thanks for that! Peter, Eve, Moritz & Johannes

United Statesincredibly well designed house with modern furnishings, very well equipped with all necessities, lovely outdoor space, grill, and pool. there were nooks for reading, beds for Sun bathing, and complete privacy. the house is situated in a small traditional village strategically located between various centers in Crete so you can relax into village life, head to the most gorgeous beaches in the world, or visit Chania and Rethymno. the owners brought us fresh bread and fruit and were so welcoming and helpful. access was super easy and we had the time of our life! highly recommend.

Yannis & Cecile have made an amazing job of renovating this old property into something light filled, stylish & comfortable, whilst saving the old features. The bathrooms are lovely & modern too. We stayed with our 3 teenage children and it was perfect. The beds are especially comfortable! At the end of Oct our weather wasn’t the best, but the heated pool took the edge off & the villa felt lovely & cosy! Yannis & Cecile are also very generous hosts, with gifts of delicious fresh bread, homemade jam & olive oil! Their guide book is full of useful tips, we especially liked their local restaurant recommendations. You definitely need a car, although the village shop (a walk around the corner) is delightful and has everything you need! Highly recommend for independent, off the beaten track travellers. We visited Elafonsini Beach, Chania (Tamam restaurant was amazing), Botanical Gardens, Agia Irini Gorge & Rethhmno and can recommend it all! Thank you 🙏🏻 ☺️

FranceAbsolutely nothing, there is nothing that could be better as everything exceeded our expectations
The Villa is really perfectly build, there is places where you can be preserved from the sun, the pool and the sun lounges are perfect, each of the 3 bedrooms has their own bathroom and restrooms and the confort of the Villa is really exceptional. Cécile & Yannis brought us some homemade jam done by Cécile and some bread selection from Kalyves. They really are lovely guests and we really enjoyed discussing with them. We felt like home and Xirosterni has it's charms, there is a lovely tavern where we went on a daily basis and a well equipped grocery store nearby

RomaniaWe had a wonderful vacation in Crete at Almyrida Villa in Xirosterni. I could not imagine a better villa for our holiday. It is a traditional villa tastefully renovated by the owners to meet every interior designer’s dream and every tourist’s needs. From washing machine (our kid’s clothes needed some refresh at one point), Nesspresso and classic filter for our coffee to cater every taste, dishwasher , iron machine (though we were too relaxed to even bother ironing our clothes) you name it, everything was there. Leaving aside all the amenities that you would probably find in other villas, two aspects really impressed us. First, the design which immersed you in the local culture and dragged our overworked minds into the holiday spirit ( the old stone walls, the inviting sitting areas by the pool, the incredibile garden area). The second was the kindness of our host. We were delighted to get up to the smell of fresh bread from the bakery and taste some home made orange jam. The attention to detail made us feel pampered. The villa is at 10 minutes drive from Almyrida beach which is everything we wanted (blue transparent water, sandy beach) with a few tavernas and little shops. I would highly reccommend this villa to anyone who is need of a break and wants to immerse in a Greek vacation spirit.
