Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainAmi's house is a very simple hostel. It is very well located at the entrance of the old town. The 2 mens that are in charge of the hostel are very kind and help you with information from the town.

ChileThe host was lovely, very helpful! Located right in the center - also a 20 minute walk to the ferry terminal (for those going to Albania!) The home is ancient, has character - was an interesting experience. The facilities and cleanliness could use some work.

GermanyThere are not many beds in one room, but you have to go through several rooms to get the only bathroom. That could be more of a problem in summer.
The reviews are quite mixed and I didn't really know what to expect. If you are looking for a modern hostel, this is not the right place. This house is older but has its own charm. I know houses like this mainly from the countryside and find them rather interesting. The rooms look like the pictures, so if the pictures are okay for you, you won't experience any unpleasant surprises. I felt comfortable here and the location is really central but quiet. I was there in winter but there are radiant heaters so it's not cold. I was the only guest and had a room to myself. Ami, the owner, is a very friendly older man. I ended up staying an extra night.

United KingdomThe bedding could have been ironed and seemed a little old. The kitchen was a bit messy and the owner could have given some advice about those facilities.
The location was very central but at the same time it was quiet. The owner was very helpful in giving a map and showing where places I wanted to visit were.

United KingdomI was confused about having my own room and the Accomodation also describing itself as dormer Accomodation
Unexpected Accomodation Run by Ami a man, another man in the office maybe a brother. So I guess the first surprise that challenged my assumptions was that Ami is male and the name is Greek is not Greek for Amy, which in English is a female name. Ami is a man’s name. The house has the sense of an Ami’s family house with artifices around that seem to be from a different era. Ami is lovely, warm personality, gentle, clear and helpful. It would be good to have had the chance of a longer conversation as I’m intrigued about how the Ami Dormer Accomodation came about. Basically a dormitory type stay sharing spaces with other women but with your own bedroom. But to get to bathroom other guests (only four or so) walk through the bedrooms that lead to the bathroom, mine was one and Sabine’s room next which was the room nearest the bathroom. So that took some getting use to!!!

AustriaAs mentioned in other comments its a little dirty - or maybe not really dirty, but old and a little shady. The beds are clean and everything seems fine, but some of the rooms are packed with stuff in boxes and the walls are not really clean. Would actually be easy to solve these issues i guess. The hosts are two older men, which are nice, but since its an all female dorm I would have prefered to have female employers?! There was no problem at all, but yes, just my general opinion.
Really good location, just a few minutes from the bus station and the city center. its easy to find and the check in was also easy, as the hosts left keys and instructions at the door. I was lucky to have a room to myself both times when I stayed there. I think its a good option for female travelers to stay there - but I am not sure if I would like to stay more than one or two nights

UkraineI personally would not consider it for a long stay, the house is old and shabby, not very clean and not much comfort. Plus too much noise from the street and airport.
I only needed a place to sleep not far from the airport, and for that purpose it suited perfectly. The bed was OK, bathroom available - that's all I needed, and for a reasonable price. The host is male (which is surprising for a "women-only" establishment) but he was nice and helpful.

GermanyNobody there at check-in, so I was a bit lost when I arrived. It’s not the cleanest. The furnishings are outdated but do their job.
Great location. Flexible check-in and -out. Owner was very friendly and helpful when I met him in the evening. Decor is quite random, but it makes the place quite charming. Each bed has an outlet and fan (no AC!)

ChinaGreat location, comfy bed and space, very helpful and friendly proprietor- let me borrow beach umbrella and mats, gave me a bottle of water a previous guest left, gave me a dive on which beaches to go to. The house had a lot of character which I liked. The room/ bed I stayed in was bigger than the hotel I’m currently at for double the price! The interconnected room walks to the bathroom didn’t bother me as I stayed only for two nights. My suitcase had a lock too so lack of locker space wasn’t an issue.

Location is great if you are between flights or catching some bus from Corfu town it is good to have a rest n travel then instead of taxing taxi which would cost twice more expensive than room
