Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt's not a deal breaker, and I understand this is an old building, but if you get the lower level rooms, you are susceptible to noise from whoever lives on the upper floor ones
Excellent host. Nick far exceeded our expectations, so we couldn't have asked for more.

United KingdomTidy the courtyard a bit (lots of ants). Replace coffee pods used. Offer a bakery breakfast until the kitchen is installed. All and all pretty minor.
Brand new hotel. Design style is well suited with the history of the building while being modern at the same time. Shower is amazing. Room was huge. Courtyard was adorable (kitchen wasn’t installed yet). Welcome bottle of Rose was appreciated. Location was amazing! And the personal service was exceptional. Nick was very helpful in helping to book tours and make amazing restaurant recommendations! Top notch.

AustraliaBeauty tucked away hotel, in the centre of old town. Very well presented with lovely finishing touches. Bed was comfy, shower was powerful, even the little things like a strong hair dryer and welcome drinks. The owners were very friendly and have excellent recommendations. Try to book a taxi that can go into old town or bring a bag that you can easily carry- cobbled streets aren’t good for suitcase wheels. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Rhodes and explore the old town!

NetherlandsThe location was amazing, right in the center of the old town just a few meters from everywhere we wanted to go. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They arrived in minutes when we were locked out, gave us advice on where to go and organized us a car. The place had bags of atmosphere and was well appointed and comfortable. In short it was everything I had hoped for when booking !

AustraliaThe place itself is located in a very good spot in the old town next to the popular street of Main Street Socratous where all shops are located. It is very quiet even though it’s so close to everything. The rooms are gorgeous with the ancient theme of the knights and also very comfortable. Rooms included complimentary snacks and drinks upon arrival we were delighted as you don’t get that in many other hotels. The stuff were very helpful and friendly, definitely made us feel like home! Totally will be recommending to family and friends back home.

United KingdomThough advertised as a luxury suite, suite 1 is no more than a standard room plus bathroom. This would not be a problem if advertised as a standard room. It has no garden view - without standing on the bed - and is badly soundproofed (near reception desk and noise from above). In later exchanges the management informed us that this was an economy room and called into question our readiness to spend money. When considering a booking one needs to be aware of a rather tenuous relationship here with the principles of accurate advertising.
There was no breakfast in situ; however, there were plenty of possibilities in the surrounding streets. The location of the establishment was good.

FranceOn the day of the check out my girlfriend got a food poisoning. She was feeling terribly bad and vomiting. We asked the hotel if we could do a later check out as she could barely stay on her legs or at least if she could have a place somewhere to lay down as our flight was at 6pm. The owner categorically refused, he became agressive and kicked us out, not letting us even leave our luggage. I have been Booking.com customer for years and have never seen anything like that. you don’t even treat dogs like this. it’s scandalous
Besides one lady at the reception it was hard to find anything to like about it

United KingdomIt was perfect so there wasn’t anything not to like.
The property was perfectly placed for visiting the old town and all it had to offer. Just a five minute walk to the palace of the grand masters and Roloi tower. Also just a 20 minute walk to the beach. The owner Irene was so kind and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Such a kind person. Our room was very clean. All the toiletries you needed so you do not need to take your own. It was quiet even though you are right in the town. It was down a lovely street. Excellent property.
