How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There is nothing to complain about the room
Very nice Rapha met us outside, followed us up to the room where it is clean and tidy. Good beds, AC and clean bathroom. 20 meter down to free sunbed on beach

Too many families with children at the beach, so it was pretty noisy during the day.

The aircon didn't work well. You couldn't feel the benefit unless your were stood directly in front of it.
Location was perfect, very central to all restaurants, bars, supermarkets. Free sunbeds on the beach were a big bonus!

Great location- a few steps from the beach & tavernas in one direction and the shops and bars in the other. Clean and well equipped, decent balcony for sitting/eating. Parking too which was a bonus as very busy area.

Excellent hosts & staff very accommodating.Location brilliant right on the beach ⛱ & within walking distance to shops & restaurants. Loved everything about our stay at Raph's studios & apartments by the sea.A big Thank You to all.Hope to return again.

The hosts are very kind, the beach is very close, sunbeds are free for guests. The room was very clean. They have a very good restaurant on the beach and you can buy their own home made olive oil.

The internet connection was not the best.
The location of the studio was really nice. Easy to get from the airport to a bus central station (2.30EUR). And from there every 20 minutes runs the bus which will take you to the apartment (1.60EUR). Sunbeds and the umbrella were for free and super close to the accommodation. Nearby there are many nice restaurants and cafes. Shops are also within walking distance. Ralph is really nice and welcoming. I would definitely recommend his studios

There was nothing we did'nt like.
Extremely comfortale beds, clean bedding ad towels every three days, hair dryer supplied, wifi included, close to the beach but mostly it was Raph the owner of these apartments who was very helpful and attentive and made us so welcome.

Raph is a super friendly and helpful host. He gave us so many tips for excursions in the area we spent one day exploring and enjoying them. We loved our apartment. It's right by the beach, parking is on site, and there's plenty of restaurants and cafes around. We only stayed one night, but it's definitely worth returning.

Raph was an excellent host, very friendly, very helpful and often asking us if we need something. The apartment was pristine clean, there was a partial sea view from our 1st floor apartment, exactly as stated in the description. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Great value.

Fridge not working at 100% capacity but good enough for cooling your beer Bathroom window initially was stuck but Raph managed to open it
Perfect location, 10 second walk to the beach Very close to supermarkets and bus station (Ag Marina 4 - Town Centre) Free sunbeds and umbrellas for customers. Beach area is not crowded at all Air conditioning Room was quiet Responsive and friendly hosts All these factors aligned to what I call "the good vibes" :) We had a very pleasant 1 week stay

Everything was fine. Very clean. Quite. All utensils in the small kitchen. Balcony with side sea view is too small for two people but for 1 is enough. Very good place direct on the see. Few meters away from bus stop to Chania and many shops and taverns. Raph is helpful person and take care of the needs of guests.

Everything was perfect, many thanks for the host and his team. Kindness, cleanliness, comfort and real greek hospitality. The best place to spend holidays. The beach is only half min. to walk, the restaurant under the apartments is also good place to have a nice lunch or dinner. Raphael, eisai foveros!!! Evharisto kai harika poli!!
