Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe bathrooms and shower in particular were very small, which is understandable given the age of the home. The finishes were quite worn in places. A few small annoyances - no mount for the shower head, not enough shelving in the bathroom and no toilet seat cover in one of the rooms.
Wonderful location in the village. Beautiful patio, lovely breakfast. Wonderful atmosphere and communal living area. The staff were friendly and helped bring our luggage up the many stairs.

IsraelYou cannot get with the car since cars are not allowed on the street so you have to carry your suitcase for a couple of hundred meters depending on where you manage to park your car.

GreeceThe room was very small, even for 1 person, especially the bed. I can't imagine sharing this with another. The windows should have protective railings, there is fear of accident every time you open and close the shutters. Breakfast should be ready at the time it is supposed to be served, on both days, it took them 15-20 minutes to set up everything.
The location is perfect, an easy and short walk from the parking lot The staff is welcoming and polite The property has authenticity and character

ItalyWe had a great stay here!! The place has everything you may need. The house is spacious, cozy and clean. The view from the house is speechless, but the most important asset is Demi’s warm and friendly welcome. All in all a great stay and would stay there again and recommend to others! 🌅💛🌸

SlovakiaIt seems a general problem for all hotels in this area can be a public parking availability in the peak season.
Absolutely amazing atmosphere, very relaxing, with a great historical vibe, stunning views of Volos, mountains and sea from all the windows, embraced by nature. The hotel amenities are comparable to better rank hotels (very clean, crazy comfortable and huge bed, very nice cool climate in summer) and at the same time it keeps its rural 'old greek' historical appearance with all the beatiful artefacts and ancient preserved furniture that surrounds you in all the hotel. Very personal care for all guests, breakfast very rich and each day different. Few meters from public parking and extremely close to main square of Makrinitsa, 10 mins by car to Portaria, another historical village, 20 mins by car to Volos.

TurkeyMakrinitsa attracts you immediately with its magnificent view and fresh air. You feel happy and easeful in this village. We stayed twice in Archontiko Repana on different dates, this traditional historical mansion is magnificently decorated. Immaculate and all facilities available. And the home owner Ms. Demi, this wonderful lady warmly welcomed us. She is incredibly hospitable and kind. The breakfast, pastries and all other foods (and of course baklava) she prepared with her hands were so delicious. It was really "harika" to meet her. We miss our talks with her in the inn-yard. We look forward to being your guest again or meeting somewhere. ευχαριστώ για όλα

ItalyNothing bad to report at all.
The owner personally cooked breakfast for us... and another 15 people judging by the amount of food she put on our tables :) She gave us lots of interesting suggestions on what to visit in Pelion. The place is in an excellent location and it has an amazing view.

GreeceGreat location, breathtaking view! Τhe owner, Mrs Demi, is a wonderful host, we felt very welcomed from the moment we arrived. Don’t hesitate to ask her for recommendations (local “hidden gems”, hiking trails, restaurants). Another highlight, not to be missed- the delicious breakfast she prepares!

BelgiumWe felt very welcomed when we arrived. Demi is so kind and helpful. She will do everything so that you can just relax and enjoy your stay. The house is typical with authentic decorations. Rooms are all different. If you have a room on the first floor, I would advise you go up to the second floor to admire the living room and observe all the objects that reflect the story and memory of the house/family. The view on the see is perfect from there. Demi is cooking generous and tasty breakfasts. Listen to her advice when it comes to seeing the most beautiful beaches of Pelion. Good to know: it is very difficult to park in Makrinitsa (not to say impossible). The Archontiko is only 100m only from the public parking. It is very easy of access as, from there, you directly take the main street and will not have any stairs or uneven paved streets to take.
