Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe had a fantastic stay at Arhontika Villas. The host was friendly and welcoming, his mother made a beautiful cake for us and the host provided fruit, olive oil, raki and delicious marmalade on the kitchen table. The Villa is very quiet and peaceful, surrounded by hills and nature. The villa has excellent facilities, two bedrooms, bathroom and an extra downstairs toilet, plenty of storage and a good kitchen with all you need in terms of pots, pans, cutlery and plates. The living space is generous with a good sofa and TV, and so is the outdoor space, you have a jacuzzi, swimming pool and sun loungers. The garden is well looked after and the fragrant smell in the evening is divine! There is plently of space for parking and Elos village is very close with it's tavernas – we found that Filoxena was the best, and don't forget to drive to Milia Mountain Restaurant, the food there is exceptional.

Czech RepublicThe villa is well located, but google maps navigates you very badly. It is far better to call to a villa representative in advance and to ask for correct information how to get to the villa. During sunny days it is really lovely place, but once it is cloudy, it might be covered with clouds and a little bit chilly. But both navigation and bad weather are not issues of the villa itself of course.
We decided to spend a few days in the mountains after three nights nearby Damnoni and Amoudi beach. Despite being located in mountains (very nice mountains!), beaches are though accessible ca. 30 minutes far from Elos. The village of Elos is lovely with basic services such as a small shop, a petrol station, a few restaurants and cafés. Filoxenia restaurant was our favourite one - once being in Elos, you must visit this restaurant.

AustraliaAwesome place in the charming village of Elos which is a perfect base for exploring the magnificent beaches of Western Crete. The host was very friendly and responsive, gave us a warm welcome on arrival and even provided wine, fresh fruit, and the most delicious cake ever! Facilities are excellent and lots of little personal touches make this house feel special. Excellent value and highly recommended!

GermanyThe decorations and pictures were not my style, but this is a matter of individual taste and didn‘t matter much since everything else was just superb.
The house is exceptional. It was all you can think of and more. We called our host who picked us up. The jacuzzi was a dream come true, as was the pool. We had an amazing time, felt welcome and at home. The town is also very friendly and nice, 4 tavernas and a mini market.

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing, could not fault this villa, a perfect base for our Cretan adventure
Beautiful villa in a quiet village in the mountains. Clean, spacious with lots of goodies left by the host. Homemade olive oil, honey, cakes and much more, perfect to start off our stay. The village has 3 tavernas serving traditional Cretan cuisine, a small mini mart and a pharmacy. If you want privacy, peace and quiet, with your own pool, beautiful mountain views and a hot tub for the chilly nights then this is for you

United KingdomWe loved everything !
The villa is up in the mountains in a village seemingly full of incredible restaurants and lovely people. Beautiful views and very private. The pool is big enough for a family of 4 to all enjoy together and there was even a hot tub which was nice in the cooler mountain temps at night !
