How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The area is a little bit dodgy with prostitutes and their handlers hanging around on the next street. However, despite that, we didn't feel unsafe, even when arriving back late in the evening.
Spacious room, comfortable bed. Convenient location with a lovely restaurant and bars less than 10 minutes walk away. Omonio metro also only 5 mins away which was convenient for the port and the airport.

A gem in the middle of a bad neighborhood. Congratulating though for being one of the firsts to eradicate and push back the bad side of the city by giving new life to abandoned buildings.

There was nice breakfast but only including ONE CUP of coffe. You have to pay 1-2 EUR if you want other cup of coffe ... Please keep in mind that this is center of city so only after midnight till 4 am there was calm outside - Athens are quite noisy / lively city.
good location in center of Athens ... 600m from National Museum, few hundrets meters from metro station, you can walk to all main places ... very friendly and helpful staff ... clean big room with nice bathroom ..every day fresh towels .... available closed parking place (7 EUR) ...

I reserved car part for 2 nights out of 3 we were staying and was confirmed paring is booked however ,in the evening when we came back to hotel we found out that actually parking is full ,as there are only very few spaces available. It looks that parking system works on first come first serve basis rather than pre-booking. Luckily, there is sufficient parking space on the roads around hotel that is free so we managed without it.
It is quite nice hotel and staff very helpful and kind . Room is nice size and very clean. Breakfast choice was modest but good and fresh .Thank you .

The hotel is located in an area which is not so safe after dark. But nothing different from some areas in Paris, Rome, London or Frankfurt.
Most friendly and efficient staff I have come across. All of them were excellent and genuinely helpful. Very nice and clean hotel. Will stay there on our next visit, as its very centrally located as well.

Everything was like advertised. Stuff was extremely nice and kind. All of the information we needed and the locations, they were happy to provide. Even gave a list of restaurants and bars near by. And what is there to see, because we were first time travelers to Athens

The Hotel is located near the central area of Athen, but in a small, little dirty street with a lot of noise. For us the only one sheet for the double bed was not enough, and there was just one pillow/person.
The staff was very kind, breakfast is quite good. Omonia Metro station is 5 min walk away (2 Stops from Acropolis). Plenty of little shop in the area. The room is clean, and quite big.

The location is in rough part of Athens.

Walking out the front door. Probably the worst part of town to be as far as derelicts, addicts, prostitutes and filth. Although we were told we would be safe, my wife and I would not attempt to walk the streets at night. The street noise at night carried all the way to the fourth storey
The staff were very friendly and helpful, organising taxis and attempting to have our room ready prior to official check in. The room was clean and comfortable. Walking distance to popular tourist attractions.

Location lots of junkies and lady's of the night, area not very good lots of derelict buildings dirty streets, graffiti. Breakfast poor.

The breakfast was below average, location was in an average part of town and you needed to walk at least 10 mins to the central part of the town.

The location was quite bad and dirty but the hotel was just 10 minutes walk to Omonia tube station and it was easy to get around the city. The windows in the room were not so good and the street was really noisy. Breakfast could be improved with more choices.
The hotel was super nice, clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and they gave lots of help and advice to get around the city. Breakfast was good but limited in choices.

Location was in a rundown part of the city. However, you only have to walk two blocks in any direction and you're in a good part of town. Your 3 blocks from public transportation. Mattress too hard.
Staff extremely courteous and helpful. Very clean and modern rooms everything worked. The rooms are good size. There is a safe in the room.

The place was great with good breakfast. Area is different with street walker's standing around and on corners waiting for clients but I had no trouble. Some Americans I spoke to said they just used taxis.
