Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAn enormous breakfast, too much if anything. It was end of season and so the hotel and the village was very quiet which suited us. The setting was wonderful, looking down into the lush ravine which we climbed down to walk along the gushing river. Even took a dip in the icy water. Even though it was the start of autumn there were still many wild flowers around and lots of butterflies.

SpainThe hotel was located in the center of the town right next to the central square. It was also close to the starting points of the two hikes we wanted to complete. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast was excellent!

Greece1. Cars are not allowed in the village. You park at the entrance of the village and you walk for 2-3 minutes carrying your baggages. It is frustrating that there is no signs for the hotel and google maps are not so helpful in villages without streets. This was the hardest part of my trip. I drove 6 hours from Athens to Kalarrites, but those very first 10' minutes searching for the hotel while carrying at hand family baggages in the village were really hard. We called the landlady but she couldn't help us. Finally when we found the place she informed us that we had made a round, as there was a shorter path to the rooms from the parking lot! I like that cars are not allowed in the village. I didn't like that there is no help for a stranger who first visits Kalarites. 2.Noise. If your room is just above the restaurant, you may experience some noise during sleeping hours. 3. I also didn't like that booking.com asked me to prepay the full amount.
The village. The warm, friendly and polite staff. The breakfast.

BulgariaThe village is very authentic. You cannot came in to it by car so make sure to arrange small bag to take with you. Its only few minutes walking through the wonderful village. There are few restaurants witch the people off the village are eating there as well- maybe because it was weekend. The women at the hotel was wonderful, she really helped us to find a place to sleep in our next destination after we could not found one available We had also a nice breakfast , the room was clean and hot good shower

GermanyI am travelling the greek mountains over 30 years now. This was my first time in this place: Excellent hosts and very friendly service. This is a very authentic guesthouse in a unique and natural place. I prefere the kind of beauty of Kalarites to the more famous nearby village of Sirako. Go there; you will like the village, the hotel and the people!!

United KingdomUnfortunately we had a room looking out onto the street and boy was it noisy until 3am. Shouting, children screaming and running up and down. The street light shines straight into the room. On top of this the church bell rang every hour throughout the night. I was expecting a fan to sleep with as there is no air con but apparently these are not allowed in the village. So the choice was to sleep with the window and shutters open and be kept awake by the noise and biting insects (there are no mesh’s at the windows) or close them and suffocate in the heat. Needless to say I had no sleep. We were gone by 9am and enjoyed the drive out the mountain
The room was clean but small. Had to close window when using bathroom. The breakfast was ok. We found the hotel after reading previous reviews about parking and walking into the village centre. We just took what we needed for the night and left our suitcases as the paths are cobbled and could image difficult if you had luggage. Views are stunning but we didn’t see them from our room

AustraliaThe drive was crazy far, the walk from the car was long, the expense of the town with no main infrastructure, the owner was not helpful, the bells of the town ringing constantly , the value for money was bad, no fan or aircon, Honestly I’m annoyed that booking would even list this property
View was nice but not from our room
