Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomHaving to get up very early to secure a lounger around the pool. Towels being put down from 7.30am or night before, so if you didn't do it, you could not sit around the pool. Many people not showing up for hours.

PolandWe liked the location in a small resort village, but there was nowhere to walk there in the evening. The sound of planes landing at Heraklion airport is also quite loud.
The breakfast was acceptable but the same variety every day. The stuff were very friendly and polite. The room was cleaned very well, towels were changed after 2 days. Air conditioning worked well. The atmosphere in the hotel is very pleasant.

AustriaSleeping was a challenge, because you can hear the noise from the activities way beyond 22:00 from the seaside view rooms and that annoying blue light emitting from the magnetic key socket - they should have gone for the magnetic keycard. The bathroom sink in our room was clogged at our arrival and showering was a little challenging at first.
There are tons of poolside activities to make sure your holiday is not boring and memorable. The variety of food choices to choose from at the buffet area and the exquisite greek cretan taste. The relaxing spa massage as an option was refreshing.

United Kingdom•Some staff members have a half ass reply, some came of rude. •Pool towel is €10 per towel deposit and €1 cleaning fee when you hand it back in because the lady at the desk didn't inform us on the charge off the deposit which she was blunt and cut us off asking questions about it. Next time we got a towel she made sure she stated about the cleaning charge which made it arkward. •The room was tidy but the floor was dirty with sand or something on the floor still. •cleaning lady's themselves are ok. One cleaning lady we tried to make effort with and she just blanked us but was staring at us as we entered the room. •Our towels wasn't changed as we asked for the room to be cleaned. We was in the room when they did the room one time and they just literally just made the bed we slept in. Not change the linen or pillows. It wouldn't of been a problem if we didn't come in all sweaty due to heatwave we was having that week we stayed. Yes we showered but not the point. •At food make sure that your bracelet is clear if you have all inclusive or half board or anything. Staff member was informing us we could only have food no drinks not even water because he would have to charge us. But after he was informed that we are inclusive he was ok in the end.
• I liked the fact that the members of the Spa - Marina & Giannis with Joahna all made effort to welcome us and feel relaxed when around them. Marina went out of her way to give us a good experience (Amazing lady she is, for sure!) Also offering any advise about Greece. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THE SPA. •The beach was right Infront of the hotel literally across the road so 5-10 steps (6 euro sunbed) •All inclusive has multiple choices of food weather morning afternoon snack or lunch or tea/dinner. Drinks included from them machine. Alcoholic drinks was limited with what they made. • local shops are 2 mins from the main door area. As well as shop inside the hotel which closes at 9pm

RomaniaWe bought the half-board pack that appear it does not have included drinks. They should be at least included at breakfast! I've been in tens of hotels with breakfast and you got the drinks included everywhere. How can you have breakfast included but not drinks?? Not ok. Very expensive cocktail and long drinks, they were around 7-10 euro, each.
The location of the hotel is right near the beach and the sea, you just have to cross a road to them, so I think this was a great location. The distance from the hotel to the bus station to go in Heraklion and the other villages was a bit longer, something like 10mins on foot. The room with sea view was a delight. It had a balcony with table and chairs, so it was great to relax in the morning or in the evenings. The cleaning ladies came everyday and also changed the towels that needed changed. Staff was nice and helpful with anything we needed.

GermanyThe transport from Heraklion airport was super easy. There are bus stops in front of the airport which leaves you 8-minutes walking distance from the hotel. More importantly, it costs only 2,20 euros per trip. I'm attaching the bus schedule. The taxi driver told me that it would cost 35 euros to reach Astir Beach Hotel. I strongly recommend taking the bus The hotel is looking even more beautiful than in the pictures. It is directly at the seaside. Unfortunately, even if you booked the all-inclusive reservation, the suntanning chairs and umbrellas are additional costs. Still, if you prefer the pool for suntanning, the chairs and umbrellas are from the hotel, and you still enjoy the amazing sea view! The selection/variety of food was surprisingly amazing! Huge congrats to the chefs/cooks! Deserts, fruits, musli's, salad bars. Additionally, the staff who brings the cutleries and serves you your drink was super kind and helpful. Overall the food is 10/10 ! The cleaning is another important fact that I would like to mention. I kept seeing housekeeping employees non-stop cleaning even the unseen spots of windows, common areas, and curtains. A huge applaud to the cleaning ladies, they are doing their job amazingly: 10/10! I reserved a mountain view room, but as you can see in the images still It was covered with a sea view and the sound of waves!

Czech RepublicLimited variety of drinks/cocktails (even locals). The pool bar was not available for all-inclusive drinks, only to pay separately. Afternoon snacks were not so good. Small parking area. Compared to other all-inclusive hotels within the same price range in Gouves, we expected more from the overall all-inclusive service.
The staff was very friendly and with a nice activity program daily. Very comfortable room with a sea view, in front of the beach (just cross the street). Pool was Ok. Nice buffet.

PolandThe room was clean, but not so comfortable with a little bit of old-fashioned furniture and a bathroom. The rooms are not well soundproofed, so you can hear slightly the other guests. Buffet breakfast with a huge selection, so you can eat the style as you prefer, then a bar with soft and alcoholic drinks. A swimming pool area not so huge, but well kept, clean, with sunbeds. Everything was clean with good assistance from the personnel. Quick access to the hotel beach through the small street. All in all for one week all-inclusive might be a good choice.

PortugalThe male waiters should be trained to not look at women guests as they look at women outside of work. It's uncomfortable. There are more older people in the resort than we excepted, wich is not a problem of course. The problem is how visible it was that this older women hated our presence for no apparent reason. But that is something that the staff cannot control. Most of the time in our room we did not have connection, so that goes to also not having Wi-Fi.
Our room was beachfront, so it was perfect to wake up with this view each morning. From the staff to the food and facilities I loved everything. The receptionists are top tier, very helpful if you need something they will do their best to get it for you, or to make it work around what you want. One of the waiters Popi, she's perfect feels like family the way she cares for guests, she makes sure you feel comfortable and welcomed. We were so well treated in this resort that leaving was hard. Most restaurants, bars and so on are walking distance. The area is safe, even at night although most of the streets are dark. They have a company making activities during the day, there's a bar lounge with a very chill ambiance. They have gym and a spa. If you want to just relax, this is the place. I loved staying here.

IrelandSmall Outdated room, beds kept sliding apart resulting in gap in between (tough when our toddler was sleeping with us in bed) . The hairdryer was broken. We kept finding long black hair on the floor every time after the turndown service was done.
Staff was very helpful, the location was great, beach right across the road, however this side of the island had big waves and for most of our stay had red flag therefore no swimming was allowed. Kids playground facility was great to have. Good options for diner however I believe the water should of been included for half board option. Huge thank you to reception team for allowing us to delay the checkout as our flight was late in the evening.
