How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Sometimes by trying to be respectful of each others space, sleep etc , made making connections with other travellers harder than usual . Music in communal areas was often a little melancholy.
Really nice rooms everyone is very respectful of each others sleep/rest space . All the staff were friendly and welcoming and helpful .

It would have been nice if there were a few more social activities, but I couldn’t fault it otherwise!
It was in a great location, close to everything, and the dorm room was a nice size, with comfy beds and great bathroom amenities.

I could have had a private room w bath but I guess it wouldn’t have been called a hostel😊. It was great overall and I did manage to sleep.
Just stayed the night snd departed for airport early in The morning. Very quiet, clean with sheets pressed. I am an older person and the staff was very accommodating. When they gave me the top bunk, I quickly reminded them that there was no way I could get up the .ladder, and without any problem I was given a bottom bunk and then lent me a lock. Bathrooms were well lit and clean. Location was perfect if one wanted to tour Athens, which I was not able to do. I was just waiting for a connecting flight. The train to the airport was easy to use. The staff happily showed me how to get to the town center where the train was and even pulled my suitcase to there.

The guy that was in the front desk could be nicer.
I like that there were individuals bathrooms and showers and looks clean.

Amazing hostel, felt more like a hotel than hostel itself, great facilities on the ground floor, modern bathrooms , excellent locations. If you are looking for a place to stay close to local amenities this is the place to be

No soap or shower gel available in the shower rooms.
The hostel is well designed and maintained. Shower rooms and toilets are clean. Each bed has a curtain, its own bed light and a socket so everyone can have the privacy. The locker is big enough for two cabin luggage. The air conditioner in the room is perfect for the summer. The location is good, close to tourist attractions in Athens. The Metro station is in 5 mins by walk and you can easily head to the airport without changing Metro lines.

Location was great, a few minutes walk from Monasteriki Station and square. Room was clean and quiet. They had the AC on even in the day which was lovely when we arrived. Each bed had a privacy curtain, it's own light and socket.

would have liked a blanket for sleeping, in case someone else wants the AC on! I didn't ask to be fair so they might offer them!
bar downstairs is cool and a great place to work. the rooms are clean and the staff friendly. Control of AC is in the room. neighbourhood is really cool

Nothing really to say about the hotel. The only remark is that while the location is super central and at the same time a little outside of the busy streets of Monastiraki area, I found the little streets getting there not the nicest.
I have only been there for one night, but as far as I can say it’s a great hub and ideal option if you’re in Athens for a short time. The staff is absolutely amazing! Really friendly and helpful. The hostel has a great vibe and is overall clean and fresh. You can see it’s being taken care off.
