How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The breakfast starts at 8, which is not convenient. If it starts at 7.30 it will be more convenient for those who have to leave early.
Perfect location at the centre of Athens. Very clean room.

The shower alcove was not enclosed so the bathroom flooded when we showered.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Great location. Clean room.

My shower had no door and the water turned cold after 20 seconds.
The breakfast was excellent. The front desk staff were great.

Breakfast was ok but quite basic. I am gluten free and despite giving lots of notice the hotel was only able to offer me gluten free rusks on the first morning, however the second morning l was given gluten free cereal and bread. On Sunday when we arrived most supermarkets are closed so only limited gluten free products available. Our door wouldn’t open properly it stuck on the floor and would only open half way.
Great location, quiet at night. Able to walk to most tourist attractions. Lots of restaurants supermarket and Monastiraki Station 5 minutes walk . The hotel agreed to keep the majority of our luggage so we didn’t have to cart it all to the islands as we will return for 1 night prior to leaving for the uk.

Our room had a frosted glass window and if opened, to a view of another building just feet away. But overall it was comfortable although quite small.
Location is excellent for walking to historic stes, restaurants and shops

The cleaning was very bad. We are 3 girls for 5 days and the person that was cleaning our room the do not replaced the dirty glasses and the never change the bed sheets. Also they never put us new shampoos or toilet paper and we have to ask for them every day!! She does moop only the last day before we left.
Everything it was amazing, the breakfast and the staff it was very friendly!!

We booked a room with jacuzzi, and the pictures make it seem as if you have a view of the Akropolis from your terrace. However, our view was the wall of the next-door building. A bit misleading.
The location was fantastic!

Bathrooms need simple basic stuff like a lock/ latch, doors that close without leaving gaps.
Great location, polite and helpful staff; good spread for breakfast. Nice clean rooms, with all basic amenities.

The staircase was quite narrow, we only used the lift. The bedroom (a double) was a little bit small, but that wasn't really an issue for us with how little luggage we had. Mosquitoes can get into the room if you forget to shut the window at night.
Excellent location. Very clean, tidy room with a lovely view of the Acropolis. Nice bathroom, good but simple breakfast. We chose this hotel because of it's sustainability rating. You have to actively ask for room cleaning via a switch, which saves on water.

For single room, the bathroom was very small and not enough space.
Location is excellent. Very easy to access to local markets, restaurants and bars. 10-12 min walk to Acropolis and ancient agora and all surrounding sightscene places .. Hotel staffs are very nice and available 24h at the reception desk..

I have no negative feedback. Recommendation for subscription channels, such as COSMOTE TV and Nova to be available for us football fans!

Extremely loud toilet flushing system. The hotel staff refused to store the rental e-bikes until the morning so that we could use them in the evening as well, instead of returning them until the rental opening time which was 5pm.

The only thing that didn’t go according to plan for me was that the staff forgot to gave me a wake up call to leave to the airport and forgot to give me a breakfast box to have in my way to the airport, since I had an early flight.
Its really close to the center of athens. 5min walking distance from the subway. The service was really good. Everyone was very kind and explained to me What would be the best way to visit the city. If you need transportation to or from the airport they can arrange that aswell at the time that you’d prefer. Also the reception is open 24/7.

We asked for a lunch box the previous evening because we were leaving very early the next day (before breakfast), but they forgot to do it and the boxes weren't made the next morning. They made it pretty quickly, but only after we asked them to.
