How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The apartment is not kid-friendly, we traveled with a 1-year old and there were a lot of stairs to reach it, which can be a problem if your stroller is big and heavy. Luckily we knew this and brought a foldable stroller.
Central location, close to everything and 5 min walk to the beach. Very nice and comfy beds, a friendly host, and delicious breakfast. We had a modern room with a sea view. There is a parking garage and extra outside spaces in a safe area.

Excellent location, in the very center, everything is close, restaurants, beach, parking. Breakfast is exceptional, all fresh. Excellent service. Perfectly clean. Friendly host. For every recommendation!

everything perfect with the hotel/apartment but the beach in the area is too crowded for my liking.
everything was fine and enjoyable. breakfast was great and also after asking for gluten free bread we got served. garage was close and very useful in this area as you would hardly find a close parking space in the evening. The town is quite busy, some really nice restaurants, and shops. ice cream, coffees, waffles, crepes, you would find everything within a 5 mins walk. very good is also the supermarket directy at the entrance, you can get drinks, fruits, water, and everything you would need on short notice.

Beautiful, clean and modern apartments. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, very close to the main square, restaurants, stores... Parking is available just around the corner. I highly recommend this place!

Our side was a street side, so there was a lot of noise. If you close the terrace door, you remove noise, but you have to sleep with air conditioning on unless you can sleep well in a hot room (we couldn't).
Clean, nice personnel, good breakfast, good location, great balcony. The maid was cleaning the room every day and changing towels. Badsheets every 3rd day.

Everything was wonderful, no negatives.
Modern and cosy hotel with very good staff, Dimitrios was there to solve any problem. The hotel is right in the middle of the town with easy and quick access to the beach and all the restaurants ,shops and entertainment. Very rich breakfast, clean and spacious rooms. We loved it.

Only one knife. No way to wash or dry glasses, crockery etc.
Good choice of breakfast items. Parking available just around the corner. Excellent shower. Equipped with quality furnishings.

center of Chanioti, can be a little bit loud from the street, 2 min. walk to the beach. extremely clean, very comfortable bed, everything looks new and luxurious, pleasant owner, good breakfast.

Nothing to dislike.
First of all, Dimitris is great host, very nice guy, and always there for any questions or help. The accommodation was lovely and super clean. The room was cleaned and the towels were changed every day. The sheets were changed every couple of days. The breakfast was really good. The location is perfect, very close to the main square, restaurants, stores… Garage is a bonus.

.Nothing to complain about really. Small size triple room maybe, besides closet no other hanging near door, no shade in the balcony in the afternoon....
The location is right in the Hanioti central square, near tavernas and shops, very close to the Hanioti beach. Super accomodation conditions, very clean, great breakfast, nesspresso machine and coffee în the room, discrete host Dimitrie always with a smile, private garage parking 2 streets away came in very handy. We had a back view from balcony, so we could see a bit of sea 😊 and were away from the street noise.

Excellent modern accommodation in the very center, secured parking (which is also of particular importance in today's traffic conditions), a pleasant place for breakfast (with a top-quality coffee machine :)), traditionally very kind hosts.

Not a quiet place. The building is in the center of the village. Nothing its perfect :D
The room was clean, new and modern. Verry nice and modern bathroom. The parking is underground, and verry safe. the owner is discreet and verry nice person!
