Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomStreet below is a little noisy at night, but it's fine with the window door closed.
"Ah, so you're from England! You must have been to Bath, yes?" "Oh, for sure. The jewel in England's crown, is Bath," I reply. "I visited Bath when I was a student in England. I loved the Crescent Royal." "The Royal Crescent, you mean," I counter with a smile. Good humouredly, the young lady on reception at Bitzaro Boutique smiles back and continues to rattle away at the keyboard, holding open two passports with one hand. I like this bonhomie. Not required or expected, of course. But the deadly checking-in scene is rendered painless and we are soon riding in the swish elevator up to the second floor. Our room is fab. There is ample square footage in which to spread out the open cases. The wardrobe... hangs clothes as you'd expect. The safe works well, first time. The bathroom is surprisingly spacious, and spotless. A pleasing king-size with neat little side tables comes with obligatory USBs (very handy, as we've brought USA adapters instead of EUR!). We asked for a sea-view terrace and they have delivered: a cracking view over the bay. I look forward to a glass of wine, sitting here later tonight. Just a few hundred yards up the road, along the sea front, is Zakynthos town, with its bars, restaurants and rows of shops selling Greek whatnots and other familiar-branded things. We find a place to eat under the shade of a leafy tree. The waiter seems initially pleased to have attracted some custom, but then affects an air of insouciance as he hands us the menu, staring into the middle distance. No matter. He means well. It's midday. No need to go mad. We choose Greek salad x 2. I knew the Greek tomatoes would be good. I'm not wrong. And a great slab of crumbly feta sits atop. It's a first class lunch, this. And I've forgotten what a good beer is Amstel. We arrive back at base, wearied from travel and aching for a nap.

NetherlandsConsidering the level of service, the clean and modern rooms and the central location, we felt that Bitzaro Boutique Hotel was excellent value for money. We were given great recommendations of where to eat and the best beaches to visit. The staff also helped us to arrange a rental car during our visit. We really enjoyed our time here and the yummy breakfast every morning!

SloveniaMaybe some will find this very strange, but the bed was never compeletaly made as the sheets can never be straightened on the bed. The sheets on the bed were too small for the size of the bed and could not be tucked in, so they were scrunched all the time in the middle of the bed. It was quite annoying. I would not mention this if we would not had a premium room. The breakfast could be 5 star if.. They would include any type of gluten free options and make sure eggs are actually edible when guests arrive. The baked eggs and omelets are put on hot plates and heated for so long that they become plastic-like. In some cases, they were even greyish-green. It is a thing to fix as the other things on the menu are amazing,
We loved the room, it was spacious with amazing views and amazing chairs to sit and relax on the balcony. The lighting in the room was sufficient to do my makeup properly - which in most hotels you can not experience. The room was cleaned regularly and therapy. The staff were nice and accommodating. The breakfast buffet had many choices it was quite nice.

GreeceThe reception of TV is poor, however, it seems to be related to the broadcast signal. I recommend using internet TV or similar.
The location is excellent: near the center, quiet, parking options, near to the Zante Town Beach. The design is practical and nice. The personnel is professional. The room was clean, spacious, and well-designed. The breakfast buffet is good and full of choices. The Internet is very good. VPN and remote desktop work fine. It is an excellent choice for staying in Zakinthos.
