Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe toilet/bathroom are not enclosed (partition walls built half way and do not reach the ceiling) so when someone is in there everyone can hear and smell which is not ideal....
Loved the view and the outdoor space. Location is very convenient as well Parking is a challenge but for us it just added to the adventure

ItalyAlthough it's technically possible to drive until in front of the apartment, Laryssiou street is quite narrow and could be problematic for bigger cars. More importantly, at least during the summer it seems that the street cannot be accessed at certain times/ in the evening. It would be useful to clarify this, also considering that it's possible to park the car on the parallel street/ along the waterfront and easily reach the apartment by climbing a few stairs
The apartment, with its back and front terraces, is just perfect and exactly as shown in the pictures.

Czech RepublicLovely loft apartment with beautiful terrace and view over the bay. It was really great stay, there is washing machine and dryer, dishwasher etc., simply everything anyone can need. The apartment is very comfortable and spacious, as we both had to work, there was plenty of space on second (shadow) terrace, there are also electric plugs outside. We would love to stay again!

United StatesThere is no parking even though the description states free parking. The house is on a road that is clearly listed as a pedestrian only pathway. I scrapped my rental car following the directions given because the pathway is not wide enough for a regular car. Parking is available on the street but is several hundred feet down and requires climbing stairs. Difficult for us older folks with bad knees. Also the kitchen is in a separate building. You have to go outside and walk 5 ft. Not a lot, but when its raining.. The bathroom is not in a separate room, its just separated from the living space by a partition wall. So you will hear everything going on from the living room/bedroom.
It was a nice apartment and very large. The bed was large and comfortable.

United States*UPDATE* My rating was not based upon the knowns--they were brought up for emphasis. A fan costs 25 Euros, it could have been bought by the property manager and used for future guests. Due to recent rains, we had numerous hard-shelled worms and pinchers crawling on the floor and walls. I’ve added pictures of these insects along with ones showing a clear view of how the house is laid out. As you enter the old and difficult to close blue entry gate the kitchen is straight ahead and separate from the main home. Inside the house you will see “barn doors” are used to separate the living room from the bedroom and the bedroom from the bathroom. Be sure that all occupants are ok to not have any privacy from a sound perspective, whether it is during bathroom or bedroom use. This is due to the fact that the walls do not go all the way to the ceiling. The bathroom has plenty of space to have a larger shower. Unfortunately, the owner put in a phone-booth like shower that makes it difficult to maneuver and clean oneself, even for smaller sized individuals. It is also dark in the bathroom area due to no lighting above. The owners were having issues with their cable provider, so we did not have satellite tv. Thankfully Netflix worked, but Internet speeds were slow and created lag times. My request for a portable fan to create white noise to help me sleep was ignored. The bed only has a sheet over the mattress without one between you and the comforter. Cleaning by owners will not occur unless you stay at least 7 days. Instructions on how to use all electronic equipment needs to be provided. Assuming you even get the one public parking space 26 stairs below the entranceway, it is best to park at the harbor versus trying to navigate the long narrow street to get to it. It’s not for the faint of heart, especially depending how other local’s vehicles are parked along the way. My 7 rating isn’t based upon the knowns prior to booking, but about the unexpected issues we experienced.
Casa Laryssiou is located in the heart of Gytheio, which allows you to readily see the town and all it has to offer. The residence is spacious for two people and offers nice views of the sea and surrounding area from the large terrace. The house is very well stocked with most everything you will need to include a full kitchen. The home was generally clean and organized. We especially appreciated the washer and dryer to allow us to clean our clothes for before our next journey. It is also located in a quiet area that allows you to relax during your stay. The AC units did a very good job of heating the space during the cool evenings we had in December. The water got immediately hot and stayed that way through the entirety of all showers. The property manager who lives close by was helpful in answering questions and assisting as needed.
