Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelBreakfast is served by waiters ( = it's nit a free buffet where you pick items to your own plate). You get a menu, then you choose items from this menu and then the items are delivered to your table. If you want anything else - same drill again. It's not bad, just time cinsuming. I prefer a buffet....
We stayed in this hotel for 1 night during a road trip. The staff was extremly friendly and helpful, the room clean and lovely and the sea-view from the balcony definitelly does the trick. Walking to the sandy beach outside is just 10 meters. Really great.

United KingdomThe stay here was hugely enjoyable and there is nothing to fault. The architecture of the rooms in the local Mani style is very pleasing. The room of a good size was well appointed and spotless. Breakfast was of the highest quality and there was a very good selection. The restaurant served excellent meals at very reasonable prices. And the staff were without fail of the highest standard - exemplary in the performance of their duties - cheerful and efficient. Good car parking. Easy access to the beach and a nice pool.

AustraliaLots of stairs not good for someone with leg problems. Parking at front entrance of hotel premises quite a substantial walk to the room but once you got there it was worth the outlook.
Views of olive groves and out to ocean were wonderful. Breakfast served at pool area was amazing with good selection and eggs cooked for you any way you like. Big range of teas and fresh fruit brought to you Al La Carte style. Bar open in the evening for cocktails. Staff were friendly and helpful.

United StatesThis is a lovely hotel by the sea. The staff were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. We ate dinner at the hotel and it was excellent. Breakfast was exceptional. Even though the stay included a free breakfast, we were given a menu and could order whatever wanted and it was delicious. If we are in the area again, we will definitely return. Thank you!

CanadaNot a dislike but more a word of caution: The rooms are on various levels and the ones on the top floor have quite a few stairs. Three flights of stone steps lead to the upper rooms presenting a challenge to anyone with mobility issues. While the architecture of the hotel is part of its charm make sure you check how many stairs are involved if you are travelling with someone who is elderly or may have difficulty climbing stairs. I should note that the hotel quickly moved us into a more accessible room when we asked and sent a staff member to move our bags.
Everything. Comfortable, large, spotless room with a lovely covered stone balcony. Wonderful, attentive staff and beautiful grounds. You can hang out by the pool, curl up with a book or take a nap under the mulberry trees in the garden or spend the day at the beach. Umbrellas and lounge chairs were always available and they even had a staff member come by periodically to wipe the sand off the chairs. The wind does pick up and the water can get choppy in the afternoon. Great for windsurfing though.

IsraelWe could have used an electric kettle in the room for making tea and a coffee machine would have been great as well. For such a fine hotel I would also expect Conditioner and Lotion and not just Shampoo and soap. Bring your own and come anyway.
We fell in love with this place! It's charming, beautiful, comfortable, great atmosphere, quiet elegance. The room was spacious and comfortable and very aesthetic. We were thrilled that the porch doors and windows had screens to keep the bugs away, which we haven't seen in many places in Greece. Nicoletta and all the staff are kind, warm and helpful. Breakfast is excellent!! Guests are served rich and varied menus, from which you can choose anything and everything, and it's all delicious and fresh. Their dinner restaurant is also very good. And - the beach it is on is stunning and quite and hotel guests have free sunbeds and umbrellas. Gythio with it's many delicious taverns is a short drive away. It's a great base for exploring Mani or just to relax and never want to leave.

HungaryThe breakfast was changed from buffet to Á la carte compred to last time we were here.
Although it was fully booked we don’t felt it at all. The location is fantastic, seaview, mountain view. The room was nice, huge and every day it was cleaned and we got new towels every day. Very kind and friendly stuff. The 4th time here. A real castle feeling with beautiful architecture and attention to the minute details.

Kosovorecently stayed at the Castello Antico Hotel with my family for 4 days, and I can honestly say that it was a real gem. The hotel is located in the picturesque village of Mavrovouni, on the Mani Peninsula in Greece. The setting is absolutely stunning, with the hotel overlooking a beautiful sandy beach and the clear blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated in a traditional Greek style, with exposed stone walls, beamed ceilings, and traditional wooden furniture. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and all have balconies or terraces with stunning views of the sea. The staff at the hotel are incredibly friendly and helpful, and they go out of their way to make sure that you have a memorable stay. The breakfast buffet is absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of fresh local produce. The hotel also has a lovely pool area, which is perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the area. We had a wonderful time at the Castello Antico Hotel, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and luxurious getaway in Greece. Here are some of the things that made the Castello Antico Hotel a real gem: The stunning location, overlooking a beautiful beach The traditional Greek décor The spacious and comfortable rooms The friendly and helpful staff The delicious breakfast buffet The lovely pool area If you're looking for a truly special place to stay in Greece, I highly recommend the Castello Antico Hotel.

GreeceSustainability has room for improvement. Although it might be nice to have A/C operating while windows are open, it doesn’t show a sustainable mindset. Also by improving energy efficiency/sustainability/CO2 footprint, could lead to a slightly better price for accommodation, while owners could also save $$. (Could be at least 30-40€ cheaper per night, to be also a “great” and not a “good” value4money).
This is our 5th year in a row visiting same hotel with my wife and 4years old son. It is a unique hotel to relax with a very nice, wide and quiet beach to spend time with family. Personnel is exceptional, super kind, and always there for you! Breakfast is superb and also served to you (no buffet self service), which is very nice also. Service at the beach, also makes you worry about nothing! Keep up nice work!
