How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The shower head had to be held by hand and the bathroom floor drain backed up creating a mini flood.
Good location clean and comfortable budget accommodation in a quiet location with good Aircon and chatty host.

The owner was very nice and she cleaned every other day the room. And took the trash out almost everyday, we really appreciated that. She even gave us a small gift when we left.

Nothing. Everything was perfect.
Absolutely amazing apartment with all amenities you could need. The host, Maria, went out of her way to ensure we had a fabulous holiday. The rooms were modern and spotlessly clean. It was a short walk into the village and beach area along the river . I highly recommend staying at these apartments. Amazing value for money. I am looking forward to going back next year.

The owner is very kind, friendly and very helpful and caring. We are very happy that we chose Christina apartments for our stay. As we had some health issues during our stay, the owner was helping us a lot and in many ways and we are so grateful to her. The apartment was clean, equipped well, with all necessary kitchen stuff. It is not far away (few minutes walk) from the beach, several shops and tavernas nearby. We can only recommend this accommodation.

There was an awful smell on sewage in the overall area (you could also feel it in the Messonghi beach), hence after the first couple of days we didn't go there anymore. There was no: ventilation in the wc (only an open pipe) and no mosquito nest on the balcony door.
The host was fantastic... very incognito but accesible / supportive at all time. They regularly cleaned and changed sheets. The nearby Messonghi beach was a nice sandy beach on a 5 min walk from the property. If you are with a ride, there are other better beaches witgin close prohimity. Parking space was available across the street.

Mosquitos coming from the river across the street.
Christina was very friendly and tried her best to help us as much as possible with every question we had. At the end she even got us small souveniers to take home and helped us with our luggages( due to a late flight).

Great studio appt with good facilities and good value for money. Maria the host was fantastic, so friendly and very helpful. She kept the apartment very clean for us every day. Kitchen could be better equipped (forget about salt etc.). Towels not changed during the whole stay (5 days). However the apartment was cleaned twice. Limited toilet paper - one thin roll for 5 persons per day. No shower gel in the bathroom.
Very nice host. Apartment located just a few minutes from the beach, restaurants, supermarket etc. Free parking place nearby.

Everything is just perfect. Room. Location. Air conditioning. Close to the beach. Near the main road(less than 2 minute walk) Half an hour bus ride to the city centre and the airport. And most of all, Maria and all the staff were all great and nice during my stay. Very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend this place.

Our stay was just amazing. Christina is a lovely host. The place is perfectly clean and well furnished. We had everything we needed for a one week stay. The place is really close to the beautiful Mesonghi Beach. Highly recommended!
